Wow greatbranch , spoken like a true cannabis scholar. Look at my current problem I had your insight before trying this...the plant in the back is starting to grow so big its unmanageable and my space is way too small for what I did I need to figure out how to grow hydroponics but keep my plant short....that pic is like 2 weeks old the plant is hugemungous now.
I had that exact problem with 4 different strains I had crammed in my tent from 85% sativa to 90% indica. The sampling was nice, but yield suffered.
I have been contemplating the short hydroponic thing, and I'm going to run a 6 gallon / 6 net pot bin with only the four corners occupied. Top em once, veg for about 2 weeks (depending on speed, but I suspect it will be pretty short) to fill my screen, flip, and see what happens. You could put a "lift" under one side of your pot to create more of an angle and increase penetration just a tad (rotate every watering cycle) - if you haven't tied things down already.

I'm just a little worried about your 4 plants in that DWC system maybe crowding each other out. You can see in my thread how huge my 2 plants in a larger bin have gotten. I think you'll have to intentionally keep them from getting too big if you decide to grow 4 together. If you just let them grow naturally, each plant will spread across the top of that bin and then some. Just a friendly word of advice from experience. I don't understand why they make those DWC systems with 6 net pots anyway, unless they're meant for autoflowering SOGs.

We're going to DC in less than 3 weeks and I can't wait! I just wish they'd legalize weed there before we arrive, but I'm looking forward to seeing all the monuments & buildings. If you want to meet us there, I'd love to get together with you and your wife. We don't know our exact schedule yet, but we should find out within a week. Take care, bud.

I think small is the key with running 4. Thought about just running 2, but I think so long as I keep them really small, I will be fine. I didn't want to put a lot of downward pressure on the bin lid training 2 larger plants. I think 4 vegged for half the time of 2 would be the same difference - just spread a little more evenly around the bin, but I have changed my mind several times up to now.

I'd love to meet up with you when you're in DC! My schedule gives MUCH easier than my wife's, so don't think she's being stand offish if she doesn't attend. I am flexible, so just let me know what you think the best day would be when you know.

I think im going to stop growing hydro plants in my small grow tent and go to all coco-coir , the plants grow smaller and are way more manageable in the coco if I can ever get my big tent back up I will do the hydro again for sure cause the yields and results are phenomenal.

Honestly, the hempy buckets are so brainless for me, the hydro scares me a bit. The Dawg said I should try it. I've gotta at least give it a go. Speaking of the Dawg...anybody heard from him? Aaaaaooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! maybe i should try a whistle.

Downward pressure on the lid is something to consider and unfortunately for me, I wasn't as smart as you to think of it. But you can reinforce the lid. Once I made an extra plastic ring that fit right around the hole that the net pot dropped down into. That helped keep the pot from slipping down into the res. But the weight still made a permanent impression in the lid. Anyway, there are ways to deal with it.

Alright! I'll let you know after I find out whether or not we got approved for the White House tour and then I'll know our schedule. Then when we're there, I'll tell Obama to hurry it up:cuss:, because I gotta meet my friend, Greatbranch! :blsmoke:

We need a Dawg Signal! Something like the Bat Signal for calling Batman in an emergency. And I think there should be a smiley of a howling dog in The Dawg's honor.

Nope. I was getting worried myself. I havent seen him on any of the other threads either. I shot him a message a while back and haven't heard from him at all.
Geez, I hope he's ok. I think we'd hear from him eventually if he got busted. I hope he's healthy.
