Bad grasshopper. Bad Grasshopper. Went out to find this branch hanging low and dying-dead. Spinosaded the dog-piss out of all the buds, spraying deep into each one. Found a dead grasshopper the next day. I though it was brown snails. Nope. Grassssshoppa!! Ate a ring around the strem. Dadnabit!
Is there a support group here for growers with lost branches?

Just remember that lost branches equals early taste.

I lost several trays of young plants to grasshoppers early on. It's been a bad year for them here. I'm starting a fall/winter grow, so I have it all to go through again.

Agreed. You got early smoke. Can't really do much against hoppers. Maybe put clear sheeting in a sort of green house around it. But once they're in there. They'll pretty much do as they please.

One of them was there long enough to shed it's exoskeleton in the crotch of a bud limb, which signifies what? That's right, neglect!
On the advice of farmer, I'm combining Spinosad, BT, Cease (fungus repellent), and Milstop (for powdery mildew) and spraying the stuff deep into each bud in one application. I spray in late evening with (5) clip fans on 24/7. The reason I spray in the evening is so the material stays wet longer. If it dries, it loses it's power to kill. The Milstop has a "spreader" in it that keeps in sheeted on the leaves longer. Something in the concoction stupified the grasshopper enough that I could grab him.
