Grape Ape vs. The Purps

I got into the purple hype for awhile... But it gets old. The thing is, half of the "purple strains" that come around aren't actually purple strains, but in fact normal strains that turned purple due to a number of reasons: nitrogen deficiency, cold temp, fluctuating temp, etc, etc etc... Hell, if you wanted, you could go out and buy a product called ClearX that will flush your plant so hard it will turn purple as balls...

Nonetheless, I'm actually growing grape ape at the moment. I will say that up to this point, the plant has not ceased to amaze me. In fact, the buds are getting soo big, I have to tie them up. If you want to see more pics of my grow, I just started a thread here.

wow did you top that plant like 20 times? lol as far as clearex causing youre plants to turn purple..thats a no all it does is flush the nutes temperatures below 75 would cause purplish color..
:peace:

sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but, on most seed sites, a high % of purps are 'outdoor strains'... how do outdoor strains cope in an indoor setup?? i havn't came across too many purple seeds with the word 'indoors' anywhere near them! (well, until a few in this thread)

purple this purple that. it is all the same thing. tastes like dirt and flowers. i hate purple.
:?
You've obviously never had a good purple strain grown properly. Purple kush is top ten in the world, great grape taste. Grape ape is very nice too, tastes a lot like grape bubble gum.

I love grape bubblegum flavoured weed.
Thats what I am looking for.

I have had an unknown strain that came close to the grape, but kept changing from grape to berry, to fruit, to floral.
I wanted it to just stay grape! LOL.

Alot of blueberry and hashy stuff around my area.
It has gotten very tiresome.

I'm growing Sour Grapes (Grape Stomper) right now, and it is the most frosty, stinky, danky shit. If you can get your hands on it, I highly suggest it.

yeah ours starts out green with golden hues and finishes purple with golden hues.. smells and tastes like creamy life savers. no joke really like candy.

purp in general is great. I like the relativey similar tastes. grape kush in a blunt is luscious. I've been smoking a lot kush strains lately too. Grape Kush, Legend OG Kush, Athena Kush, Purple Kush, Bubba Kush, and etc. I love the smoothness of kush and it's mustard smell/taste.

i just want to weigh in on this for the record and say that good weed is good weed. It doesn't matter what color it is. I have gotten some shitty commercial purple before and i have had the half a hit and "wholly shit!" purple. I believe the same can be said about any strain. furthermore....where can i get some sour grapes beans?

you know what.. i did about 6 rounds of the ape. it gets big and is a joy to grow. very strong healthy plant.. just not a big seller here in my part of cali... very leafy and not the flavor people here are looking for. id say its middle shelf i give it a 7 on the scale..yes ive seen others grow it too. all the same.. GDP will always put a woopin down on the ape. and so will most other real purp strains..
