Grafting Something Different

So i was wondering if it would be possible to take two plants one Sativa and one Indica during seedling stages (when the first set of fan leafs are present) and split both seedlings down the center and graft the two separate strains together as one complete plant. Is it possible and also what are the possible perks and/or disadvantages to this.

My idea is to split both plants right down the center and graft two whole new seedling plants with one side growing sativa the other side indica. Hoping the buds will take on traits of both plants or at the least having a two sided two strained mother plant.

I wondered the same thing and so I tried with clones not seedlings about four weeks ago. I took my cuts, one from a kens gdp and the other from a sour patch. I split them near the bottom about two inches in length and dipped in water then straight into root powder heavily then put into a grow plug. It's been a few weeks as I said and the gdp is definitely the dominant one but the sour patch is alive and seemingly well, although it is curled around the base a few times and has a lot of super tiny leaves it only reaches about halfway up to where the gdp does. So far hey seem healthy I will veg them for another three weeks or so then pop into 12/12 then 11/13 . I'll try to remember to post pics by the end of the weekend and I'll keep it updated as to whether the gdp eventually just smothers and kills the smaller sour patch, and whether they exhibit any cross signs in the process of growing and flowering and the end product

Are you sure they aren't just growing close to each other with intertwined roots?
I wonder if this affects plant count?

There's a chance that they didn't meld and just healed separately and roots are just intertwined, i honestly can't tell yet but will hopefully be able to tell when I transplant. As for plant count I hadn't thought of that, but there are two of us in the home that have recs and cards so we aren't over our legal limit anyways

People graft plants to keep within plant count, but have multiple strains available to grow.

I'm not sure about seedlings being grafted, they're root systems may not be strong enough for it.

I'm going to try grafting a couple clones onto my mother chocolope plant. We'll see how it goes.
