Gotti's 600w Organic Vert

Thanks for taking the time to answer those questions. I ask as Im looking to switch to organics in soil this summer since battling heat in rdwc is not happening again this year. Battled mites, root rot, and airy buds last season and I ain't doin that again! I'll be following closely here. Have you looked at the roots organics line? I'm contemplating giving them a go but that's a while out. Guess I should focus on the vert tent and the horizontal tent first!

Another thought. Topping, do you recommend it for vertical growing or should a "tree" style approach be used to have taller plants with less but more productive branching? My test is not being topped but I'd like to hear from the pros what they/you do.

I would recommend neither topping, nor training. I trim lower foliage starting 3 weeks into flower. Only a maximum of 4 feet of plant is getting adequate light with a 600w, so i trim everything off under 4 feet from the top. These blue mystics didnt need much trimming because i topped for 4 tops, and they are only 2 feet tall. The backsides are a little smaller than the ones closest to the bulb, but they are all pretty dense. I would love to take pictures of my other tents to show you, but I have a partner for that operation that doesnt want me "documenting" the grow. This tent, and the stadium im building are part of my personal setup.

As for roots, Ive never tried it. I hear good things about their products though. I dont use soil, I use soil-less, so its the most basic hydro setup technically. Drain to waste Hydro. Im just starting to use organics now, I usually use ANs connoisseur based line.

Ive been having trouble getting the clones up to temperature since I started them. So I just moved things around a bit again. I cut the top flaps off a cardboard box, cut a 10x20 inch rectangle out of the bottom, flipped it over and placed it over my mechanical ballast. Then put the prop try in the cut out, and the clone box and lights over it.

now the temperature of the tray is 86F instead of 68F. :)

Blue Mystic Shot.....about 3 weeks until harvest.

I picked up a bunch of packets of active dry yeast. They came in packets of 1 tablespoon, and are 47 cents each. One packet, with one cup of sugar, and one liter of water is supposed to last a week. I did away with the C02 dispenser i made with the two 2 liter bottles. Now Im using a single 2 liter bottle with a 1/4 plastic tube about 6" long going through the cap. Ill post some pictures. We shall see how it does. :)

Gave the vegging freebie plants a 1/3 strength dose of GO nutes. I wanted to test it on something, before starting a grow with it. These plants are around 2 weeks old, its been 8 hours since they were fed and they look great. If they look good tomorrow then I know Im safe to feed without PHing. :)

The one clone in the coning box is the top from the largest vegging freebie plant. Its the biggest best clone I can cut right now, I used rootech cloning gel, and hopefully get some good roots.

This is my first attempt at cloning with cloning gel and rapid rooter plugs. I soaked the plug in water. I topped the plant, made a 45 degree cut, and immediately put the cutting into water. I then underwater scratched up the stem good, then I coated it good in cloning gel, and put it into the plug. I misted it and put it into the tray under 2 halfs of 2ft 24w T5HO strips. So 24w but about a foot away. The temp of the clone tray maxed out at 88F, but the humidity is really low. I just put 4 little 3oz dixie cups full of water next to the plug tray, and covered the cups and the clone with a clear rectangle plastic container. Hopefully this helps. Any tips on cloning are welcome, im looking to start cloning steadily so anything to help my success is appreciated.

Very neutral smell while they are growing, they dont really get bad. The loudest the smell gets, is actually after its dried and cured. Still very earthy neutral fruity smell. Taste is just the same. :)

C02 Dispenser. Lots of bubbles so it must be working well.

Homemade humidity dome. Hopefully this helps.

Smart Cup for Party Cup Contest. Official Day 1 is 1/9/11. Also the 6 week mark for the Blue Mystics. :)

So my first ever feeding with GO nutes went well! Looks like PH really doesnt matter!

Over 24 hours since I fed them, and they look much nicer and healthier, no negative signs!

Are these readings good enough for cloning, or will I have trouble? (pic)

I have an inch of perlite in the tray, with about a half inch of water. I made a humidity dome to stand in until I get one.

The highest the temp/humidity has been is 82F/66%. I am new to cloning so anything to comfort me is appreciated.

So I checked on the clones after the ballast cooled down. (its directly under the tray). The humidity was much higher.....84% compared to 66% when the ballast is running.

looking good. I'm sure the cuttings will be just fine. Heck, I don't even use a humidity dome, and my temps are lower then ideal, and I do ok. You should be good to go. Good luck.

Thanks man! Thats all I needed to hear! lol I actually feel much more confident that they will make it.

If I made a mix of water and bioroot, would this be good to soak the rooter plugs in? If so, should the mix be weak?

The C02 container wasnt bubbling anymore, so I figure it only lasted about 2 days so far. That doesnt bother me though. It only costs $1 total per bottle. 47 cents for a yeast packet and about 35 cents for a cup of sugar. If I use a new bottle every day, It will only cost about $50 every 2 months. Thats half the price of a Boost Bucket.
