I sold my 100w Marshall amp and bought new gear. I got a Yamaha EW410 keyboard, stand, sustain pedal, bench, Focusrite 2i2 DAW software with mic and headphones, a Spark 40 amp, and a new HP music workstation, the Z420; how appropriate. :) Hot dang, I'm gonna be a Tik Tok star!

This is Potpimp and DaPimper is my sock puppet account because I can't log in on my new computer because I don't have my old email address attached to the Potpimp account. So I returned the Spark amp; what a pain in the ass!! They sent it from the factory with instructions to update the firmware. WTF... who does business like that?? So it never updated, and I assume it's like Windows update; you don't dare do anything on your computer while that's going or you're screwed. So I sent it back DOA. I never got to even test it out. I'm getting a Yamaha amp.

I went with a Fractal FM3 for my recording stuff. Updating Firmware is very common on these types of units, so I'm curious what happened with your update? Was there no indication that the update finished? Was it stuck in limbo? Did you contact Positive Grid re: the issue?

As a side note, the other day I had to do a FW update on my ASUS router and the GUI/Web Interface said "downloading" for a while so I got a bit nervous. Ending up manually downloading the update, installed it without an issue.

Yeah, after looking at the log file, the tech said it was DOA and issued a call tag. I shipped it back and got a refund. My new Peavey Vypyr X2 40w modeling amp will be here today!

Glad you followed through. Hope the Peavey works out.
OMG, this thing is incredible!!! It wouldn't take much for this amp to be totally overwhelming, but considering all the electronics I've owned over the years, it's a challenge but I'm up for it. This thing has tones out the ass and then some.

I ran into the "too many tones" issue with the Fractal I have. Took about a year of testing/tweaking to get to a handful of amps/cabs I really like and that fit my ear. I've barely even touched on all the effects available.

Yeah, that was one thing about the Spark 40 that I thought was "fru fru". I mean, seriously, how different can 7,000 tones actually be? This one has 400+; that's much more reasonable to me.
