Got Me Thinkin'..

Ok gang i dont know bout you guys n gals but i had a bunch of
PMs askin bout the elite section ie how to become a member etc, from folks with like 1 or 2 posts.
Ok i know this aint about how many posta ya got etc or i very much doubt i'd be here either, and i know that ppl like to think theyre part of some elite group/clique/club etc but some just seems fishy with some of the PMs..
Like a DUMB ASS i have already deleted them, so i cant show ya what i mean...I was baked and went on a deleting frenzy..
But anyhoo it got me thinkin, is there anything else to becoming elite than just paying subs?
I mean, like do you guys(MODS) actually vet who gets accepted based on their posts/threads etc or is it purely based on if ya prepared to pay n support the site?

Just curious.

For safety reasons, they should only allow people with a certain number of posts to join. It would definitely make me feel safer...

I hear ya..I just figured that There was prolly also some kinda vetting process or maybe you were judged on your input to the site, thru your threads etc...That would make good sense and i figure would poss make it safer for those of us who want to support the site and want to talk about other stuff we dont want broadcast across the regular board.

When I first became elite there were only a handful of us. Now there are alot more its not as DL as it was before.

Well i guess membership is always gonna grow,so obviously the elite section will get more exposure,which is kewl...But i was just thinkin that an 'elite' area doesnt stay elite or safe for long if any Tom,Dick or DIRTY HARRY can shell out a few bucks and get in.

Like i said i'm not trying to stir the shit pot any, i just got thinkin...

It is funny unless the paranoia is kicking in. The police are going to see u on this site. Track u from ur ip address then kick down ur door. Then jail for u, whats that noise outside are they here already. Lol

i know that users of any type of web interface are traceable etc,thats not really the issue, for me atleast... i was jus askin if there were any other basic criteria other than payment?

u cant be traced if ur on the web via pay as u go mobile. They might be able to find out ur location when its on but thats it.

Lol i got a pay as you use mobile when i was in the UK,.. I had some $$$ to spare so i Got 2k,crdited to it, and use it solely for laptop connection when i'm out n about...
Checked my IP and it says i'm in Birstol or some.
cell phone signals are traceable within something like 30ft..

I often do a lot of travelling with my work, so the UK Cell phone thing seemed like a good idea, cuz i need to have my email etc available at all times, and if youre stuck in darkest deepest Bogota or out in the boonies in Timbuctoo its nice to still have the ability to contact the outside world(provided you can get a signal)..Dont really give a rats bout the slight chance its more difficult to trace etc, if they wanted to do it, they would with relative ease.
And its hella cheap for me to use in comparison with my verizon contract...
I nearly had a frickin heartattack when i got my first bill off Verizon for the international usage...I'm talkin mid to high triple figures

I still think that a reviewing process would be cool for people who want to be elite. Then the difference wouldn't just be paying, but everyone would know that elite people are the shit. It would take some of the overall paranoia out of the site for those types of people and add to the honor of being elite here...for those of us who really want to change things and/or help people out.

Well, I found this site 3 months ago, started 5 threads, got about 100 posts and looked at the elite option. I saw it was only five bucks so I paid with paypal, selected return to merchant and Bang! I was in. I never thought about security until I got here.

ya i dont think we have much 2 worry about...shit if ur worried use one of those proxies...im not worried bout it...i dont even think i have a big enough grow for the cops to be worried bout me....im sure there is alot worse people around here growing bigger setups and telling more people about it...the thing bout the internet is ur supposed 2 b able to be annoymous on here lol but who knows how annoymous we are lol

the way i see it if u doing a lil grow less the tenplants ur cool got nothing to worry about they will give u community service and or a fine. You wont go jail for it, the police want the people that are making big money from growing they want to sieze assets and cash if they can. If your doing ur own for personal use u aint got much to be worried about well in the uk u aint.

I'm not gonna get paranoid about it one bit as i feel im not doing any wrong i dont sell or promote weed. I'm just growing something good left in the ground for us. If u cant do the time then dont do the crime its simple.
