got aquaponic system??

I have an opportunity to get my hands on an aquaponic system, the kind that you raise fish and plants in a single bio-system. anyone ever used one before at all?? and if you did, what is your opinion of it?? thx for all if any replies..

Ive grown chilli plants using aquaponics if that counts
Any flood and drain setup can be converted directly to aquaponics..so dont pay a lot. The more mature the growbed media gets the better it performs. Ph is a balancing act between the plants and the bacteria, initially you`ll probably find you have to buffer it upwards as the bacteria tend to drive it down (no chemical ph up allowed as you`ll risk killing the fish) but it should stabilize after a few months to the low 6`s.
Other than the odd iron deficiency which is common with aquaponics its very easy and low maintenance.

never used one, but i want to, i wanna grow it in, it would be almost like with salmon and rice. and the fish poop would fertalize.
