if you were stoned when he came around you could be overreacting and have misconstrued the event..if you were completely straight..but then you don't have anything growing..well..yes it's unusual.. they can read meters from their trucks now, at least in the US.

EDIT: Well, geeze mr. po-po the extra 2.50$..perhaps it's because A) we had another baby B) we've had out of town guests C) eat shit and die..none of your business lol for 2.50$
lol I think its obvious hes not in the US by the fact that his currency is in £

also, when he says they can see his light schedule, I dont think hes referring to light leaks....

if you got kids, its a whole other ball game. if you get caught, you may as well piss away 3+ months wages. is it really worth it for what, 4. maybe 8ozs?? thats one way I always look at it.. risk isnt worth the reward. lawyer bill here starts at 5000$ for that stuff.
Now what's it worth to get caught driving stoned on the way home from your dealers house with a zip on you? Or you just happen to be at said dealers house when the raid goes down? Fuck it, I'ld grow and keep the scales and extra cash outta my house. Knowing your own local laws go a long ways in determining your risks.

you have a point.. not sure about the local laws about growing. but around here its about to be under 30 grams is just a small fine, then youre on your way.

scales are a no no though, but a manufacturing charge is very bad too. bottom line.. its better safe than sorry! if youre just a recreational stoner buying an oz on a payday im sure they wont bust your ass as hard as if they find your grow show beside your 1 year olds room.. locally at least.

No my electric is bought up front in top ups, like a phone top up, if I need electric I need to go to the shop and buy some or I have none.

I grow 1 plant a time and stick to low smell varieties so, even when I have a grow on there is no smell.

When I say can they see my schedule, I mean, can they see telltail signs on my meter of a cannabis grow, ie a spike in power every morning at 6 followed by the equivalent power down at 6pm. I know leo have told them to look for that.

I don't think for one second the £2.5 a week is what has 'alerted' them ,if that's the case, I'm worried that they are suspicious for reasons I don't know.. like above power usage, or possibly working with the police, eg police have said, we have reason to believe cannabis is been grown at this address, can you send around an employee to check their power use.

Just as I think about it, about 2 months ago, there was an incident in the street beside mine and the police chopper came down so low and close to my house it was literally a few feet away from my roof. Talk about scary, maybe the flir could have picked something up. The heat builds up in my closet and maybe escapes a little bit into the attic, Its only 250 watts, but still when the chopper is that close..

I was completely straight when this happened, I honestly am like 50/50 on this, I think it's possible something is up.

By the way the power companies work hand in hand with leo, all over the world. Don't believe the myth that they don't care about you as long as you pay, they are the ones who loan out the flir devices to the cops, they probably get paid incentives to find illegal growers. Actually, even though its more illegal, your probably actually safer bypassing the meter. That way they don't know hat your up to, because with todays technology and surveillance techniques, you would be surprised what they can do.

I agree, it would suck big time but prices here are a joke let me work this out... £200 or $318 dollars for an ounce of no name mid grade around here. It probably still isn't worth the risk with the kid, but I really think I can stay undetected. I'm a low profile guy anyway and I will always keep every angle covered.

My local power companys employes get bounses if they report a grow operation that the cops wind up pressing charges against

Is your meter a 'smart meter' if so I would be concerned

I have a friend that works for the gas company reading metters , It's rather common for meter readers to go back days later to double check a meter . Most of the time it's a simple mistake recording the usage . They even record mistakes on purpose so they get to go back to the same area another day to see their girl or whatever

Ever think about solar cells / batterys / and a inverter

what electric company do you use??? Everyone should be given this info.

I have never heard of this before.
around here the power co employees have a monthly meetings w/LEO and are asked what they know/have seen. They are mostly looking for thefts though.I've never heard of a reward but I don't doubt it one bit.
Any bill over a grand is red flag'd ASAP

Sounds like the local power company's manager has some serious power (get it?). He could be the kingpin, telling the police the addresses of his rivals, while he cleans up the streets of all that money out there. Since, he's the source of info, nobody will ever know to look at his bill.
