Got a question about light hoods

Will a cool tube ran through the mid of an air-cooled hood give good heat deflection?

Was wondering if there is any reason that I cant do this:
The pic is of an air cooled 400W hood w/a cool tube running thru the middle.
It seems to me like it would be twice as good as using either one separately!

An air cooled hood or cool tube alone work great. All you would be doing is putting one more piece of glass for the light to make its way through before it hits your plants. Glass does impede light somewhat, and the extra piece is superfluous. I would just use one or the other.. or if you want air-cooled hoods reflector do as you describe and remove the air-cooled hood's glass.

Aye thats an awesome idea, just remove the glass from the reflector and have the cooltube through it.
