Got a CFL light, is it good? (pics)

Hey everyone
So I got this CFL light from my mother's house, and the specs look perfect BUT it's covered or something.

The box also says 'not dimmable'
What do you think? I tested it and it worked great, lots of light.

Are you using this for your whole grow?

Well if your using this for your entire grow expect to get about 3 grams dry LOL you need id say atleast 6 of these but id go with about 8 if you want a decent-ish yeild you can pick these up for around £1 or about $4 in the US from your local hardware store hope i helped

I guess I'll have to keep it in the sun for awhile and save some money to build a grow box
Will it survive a week or two?

It will be okay-ish under than light for a week i suppose but when you switch over the 12/12 you will want atleast 8 of those, putting it outside this late in the season would most likely kill it hope i helped

thast not even a cfl. its a flood lamp is is crap. dont waste the time. cfl and any light with a ballast cant be dimmable. digi ballast switchable yes...but not dimmable

ah...so it is. its a flashlight bulb i see. ya still not very good. go buy a real cfl for less than 10 buck each at least. the thick glasss im sure will block most the already week lumens it has
sory bud, dint mean to sound like i was insulting your choice there. just is a waste to use that and especialy only 1.

$10 for a cfl :O over here its £1 about $0.70 for a 23w cfl

get yourself some of those 65 watt huge spiral cfls, ive grown under those lights with surprising results if done right...
check out my grow link below I grew that lemon kush plant with one 65 watt cfl and a 42 equal to 8,000 lummens if i recall..cfl are all about making the most out of them try to keep them close and they give off more lumens to your plants if theyre sideways and not straight up..

dam, we pay about 7 bucks for the 42 watters over here. the ones by phillips ive used. and they need to be within 2 to 3 inches of the plant to get any half asses penetration.
it is betetr to sue more of less wattages to get better coverage

I got 2 6500k cfls, 23w and 32w, the box is really small and when the plant will get bigger I'll have to move it to a bigger box
Gonna start saving money now. Is there a REALLY good grow box guide? That shows exactly what to do and how to do it? The one I built is really bad, light leaks and it's small and loud.. A good guide will be really helpful!

just build a box about get 2 12cm pc fans (maybe a few more depends on temps) connected to 12v DC adapters 1 as exhaust other as intake get a 300 watt cfl dual spectrum and some good soil such as bio bizz all mix and some good nutrients such as bio bizz grow and bloom a ph tester and ppm tester ph up & down 2 timers one for light and one for fans that should be pretty much everything oh and a temp/humidity gauge

This is gonna be pretty expensive, eh? I can't find any nutrients or good soil anywhere near so I'll have to order online or something.. Does everyone spend that much money?
The reason I wanted grow this small is so it wont be too expensive.
