gorilla grow tent trouble

i bought a 5x5 gorilla tent, i had to send it back cuz it was impossible to get the tent zipped up, i had 2 other people helping me, trying to pull the top half down to connect to the bottom half. it seemed like the top was 2 inches short to reach the zipper on the bottom half. this prolly sounds confusing, it's hard to explain lol. anybody else have trouble getting this tent set up?

The Pakistanis that threw a test unit or two up had no problems at the official test site in Islamabad. Were there no instructions?

I put up my two the other day by myself. It was a lil tough starting the sides but I got it. They def make em to fit exactly n don't offer any extra wiggle room

they're gonna send me a new tent, they also said they were getting alot of complaints from people not being able to get these tents zipped up. were you able to set your tents up without having to lay it on it's side? thanks for replying back

Oh, did you get 2 'top halves' or 2 'bottom halves', i'm just wondering if your tent is 'Half full' or 'Half Empty', lol. Yeah i know, i smoked too much already. :p

Hope you get a working replacement man. xD

No I didn't need to put it on its side... I do recommend building it inside the bottom section rather than building it then putting it inside the bottom... Just a pain in the ass trying to get it inside. Like I said there is 0 wiggle room... Took me like 15-20mins to just get the sides zipped in but I managed it. Can't believe they didn't give like a half inch to an inch of slack to make it easier

I put the gorilla 5x9 together by myself in about an hour. There are some flaws in the tent though.

So after purchasing the gorilla would you say it is worth the extra $100 or so over their competitors. I understand the importance of the metal supports, but people are doing that for a lot cheaper than Gorilla. I'm giving myself another couple days to figure it out and am just trying to make sure it's worth the dead presidents so any input would be appreciated from you guys who actually already own one. Basically would you do it again?

I have the 5x5 version. It is the only tent I have ever owned so for me to compare would be biased I guess you could say. What I would like to say is that gorilla grow tent swayed me with the metal corners, really thick fabric and over all durability of the thing (my tent shipped weighed 77 pounds). I hated setting it up by myself, wish I had an extra hand but I had it up in about 45 minutes to an hour, the sides were the hardest because the fabric is so heavy and the zippers have to meet so there was a lot of tugging. Once you get it up though you will be thouroughly happy with it. Like some others said, they leave no room for wiggling so it fits like a glove. I went with them because I kept reading about people ripping their jardins and other tents while setting them up and I figured the extra thickness would help with that along with smell and noise. Hope this helps bud!

Oh yeah, I guess to answer your question, I would buy another, In fact, I plan on buying 2 more, just in different sizes...

I have a 5x9 8' tall. The frame is quality and the fabric is very thick, and heavy. That's good for insulation, reducing heat signature. & even provides more soundproofing. I had a 2x4 bought from eBay $100. I came home and my light hood was laying on top of 2 dozen rooted clones. There are other quality tents out there cheaper than gorilla. Just don't get a crappy tent or you will end up buying a better one next month

My bro and I just setup my 5x5 gorilla tent yesterday. It went up fairly easy. We did have a hell of a time zipping though, but once we got it started it zipped fairly easy. At least the top to the bottom. The front door was a pain in the ass and still doesn't zip all the way up. Like said before, they don't give ya any slack to play with. Anyone else have a prob zipping the front all the way up?

i had a secret jardin dark room twin 4x4, first 2 tents ripped in the same corner so i returned it and got a new one and never was truly happy, it seemed kinda cheap fabric wise with tons of pins holes along the stitching and frame would start to rust after moisture in the air and support bars would bend easy, they couldn't support my carbon filter and the tent would suck in about 4''-6'' all the way around. it was nice when i had it and if your very gentle around it but im looking to upgrade and the gorilla tent seems up to my standards and if i only gotta buy it once i cant complain. its going to be a while gotta save up but im looking to get the 12x12 if anyone knows the price? or got one yourself?

im not ripping on jardin there nice but not durable to my stantards (i work in contruction and like heavy duty, last a long time stuff)

You can get the 12x12 at http://www.fullbloomhydroponics.net/gorilla-grow-tent-12-x-12/ it's on sale right now, $200 off. It also comes with a free 12" height extension and IR blocking roof insert.

The zippers are the only complaints from most of the people I know that grow with them, but that might be resolved in the newer ones they are building (hopefully taking that into consideration). They are 15% off right now by the way, in case you wanted to get another one. ;-)

LOL. You probably used the horizontal poles for the uprights. I did the same thing. My uprights were a different length to horizontals but all the connectors are the same.

Gotham Hydro out of New York sells various-sized grow tents that are thicker than your standard grow tent. They are super-easy to put together, and they are well built. I have their 32" x 32" x 5' H tent myself, and have never had a problem. Here's the link to their tents if anyone wants to check them out:
