Gooey, sap like substance on fan leaves?

Hey guys.

So I've been noticing this clear gooey stuff on a few leaves recently. I often have to deal with all sorts of pests when I grow outdoor but I've never seen this before. Ive been using neem oil, but it still keeps coming around again.

I've taken some off and it's pretty strange, it has the consistency of dry glue and a slightly pink color to it, no real smell though. Doesn't seem to be doing any damage as far as I can see. But I really have no idea what it is.

So if anyone can help me identify what is leaving this stuff on my plants, I'd be really appreciative.

Sorry for the picture quality btw, I don't have a camera.

I have seen others refer to this as guattation. I've seen it on my plants before and so do many others. Best explanation I've read suggests that high soil moisture levels, especially at night when stomata have closed, can lead to some root pressure forcing some to exude through leaf structures designed for this. I have also read this can be clear or tan or even red.

Cool, thanks for the info man, I'll do some research. Sounds pretty interesting.
