Good soil

read up on organic soils and thank me later. you will be 10x more successful if you can read up on how soil works. barn buster posted some very informative links. the fact that you are asking someone if FFOF will burn a seedling pretty much tells me you didn't read and understand the links. the answer is IT CAN burn a seedling, but that is entirely growers error, reading the links will prevent that. while many growers do use FFOF, take a look at all the big boys soil grows and see how making theire own soil benefits them. then keep the boner in your pants after looking at their harvest pics.
Why the disinformation? Un-augmented soil isn't going to burn anything, doused with synthetic fertilizers and then yes they will burn and kill the bio in the soil.

Like i said. Growers error. Even adding organic liquid compost into ffof can still burn seedlings as a small portion of nutrients is already available for uptake because not all organic compounds are the same, especially nitrogen. The rest will be chosen to be broken down by the plant helped by the herd at the root zone. if used properly without any food for a while, then no they will not burn. See where im going? he needs to read what can go wrong and what cant.

I concede. I've just never experienced any problems with the soil probably because of what you stated. If I may ask you a question and get your thoughts. I have 5 gallon fabric containers with FFOF, 1/3 castings and hi phos guano. I water with a 6 diffuser areated rain barrel that has a large sock in which I toss soil from a mulch pile and anything that will break down + a shot of molasses . Ph is 6.3-7.2 depending. I'm 6 weeks into flowering and am not sure how much I need will need to supplement. Bud development is good at this time. I don't want to resort to synthetic to reach my goal. I have managed to get 3 diff strains of Dutch passion. Week six on 12/12. Much appreciated

Ah i have a friend that is whooped over DP auto's and has been popping the same beans for years and damn, these auto's are potent and get huge cola's for an auto!. He's telling me they are rather hungry and used 20 gallon smart pots FROM SEEDLING LOL with a mixture of ffof40%/hawaiian compost (kelp, bone,EWcasting,Batguano, lime or epsom salts ect) and 20% perlite. He cooks them for 45days+ specifically for his DP beans and ends up with 8-10 ounces per plant outdoor with no burn in flowering and no mold from 65/70%. I cant speak for the strain as i have never popped them beans yet but i have a few that were traded to me for some of my blue dream xx hollands hope beans. i might try the DP beans later on when i have more room and time. right now things are getting too complicated and tight in my place. From what it seems, you have a good ratio of compost to soil very simular to mines, except i dont water with tea. The only thing they get once in a great while is a little bit of calcium and molasses or epsom salts and boron depending on the strains. I use tap water all the way to flower with never any issues at all no deficiencies ect but im sure that will change when i start strain/pheno hunting again. This is almost my second year with organic super soils and if i posted wrong information, please point it out to me as im here to learn the right way and not beat around the bush!

i use a seed and cuttings compost in the uk from somthing you call a home depot store, mixed with there own brand perlite and to be honest ive used canna and plagron in the past and noticed no difference imho,i prefer to be in complete control of feed as if i were using coco,it suits uk growing as regards to laws and sentancing as hand fed soil grows 9 plants and under wont get you in jail, however hydro or coco drippers will

Everybody starts somewhere. Nobody knows that much starting out. A little research & next time gets better;than time after that gets better & so on! lol:blsmoke:

So a heads up onmy grow I just put my CFLs up close to my plants and there doing good nice buds popping out but on my next grow I got zenbuilder to start and then the ffof when it gets bigger my next buy is the hps and mh lights I'll post new picks when I start and this grow is done. Thanks for the feed back and the m.g mixed with the heavy 16 line works good but I'd never use that shit again

If you're not going to make your own super-soil then FFOF is pretty good stuff, especially paired with their nutes, at about 1/4-1/2 the lowest recommended strength.

My upcoming grow plan is to go with 2:1 Ocean Forest and Light Warrior add some more perlite, a bit of bone meal and some dolomite lime. I'll germinate in my secret organic seed starter, (in a bag from Espoma) in a coco coir cup and then pot up to the OF/LW mix in 5 gallon Smart Pots. Easy peasy. I don't ph my water, either, because it is fine at straight up 7. Ever since I stopped fussing with water ph my plants are looking better all the time.

Just out of curiosity, why does one mix ffof with softer soil? And yes, the only time i ever see my pH pens and drops is when i mix new soil every other year, many people still organic pH feed FFOF lmao

No need to PH any FF soil it is already buffered set for 6.3 - 6.8. The 2:1 FFOF / Light is a good "super" soil like mix. Adding more perlite is a growers preference , but add up to 20% for the soil blends I experiment with. Light warrior Contains an organic blend of mycorrhizae fungi Which Ocean Forest also has (a powerful root stimulator), sphagnum peat moss, and humic acid. As near complete as FFOF soil is out of the bag this adds even better performance , and is super easy to set up ( without cooking for a month ) too .

I started with ffof but now i use ffof with a hot mix of 7 different bags of compost, perlite, soil, lime, rocks ect because of the extra dolomite lime i ammended to help bring the pH buffer back up I check the pH buffer level before using with newly mixed soil. I have never pH'ed my water since idk? Lol. Anyways i was just under the impression that light warrior was simular to ocean forest but no where near as hot. I wasnt aware of other amendments in LW+OF makes a super soil mix thats why i asked. Never evem touched a bag of LW before but maybe ill try a test eventually

Check out @Superweedman super soil showdown , the FFOF MOONSHINE MIX ( separate video ) is the easiest mix to do for me. And his grow results are quite impressive. The fact that this mix when used as the bottom 1/3 of container will carry plants all the way to harvest on just water and no nutes is impressive.
