Good alternatives to FFOF?

I'm having major problems using FFOF and I think I'm done with it. First off I get 2 bags that were loaded with gnats which have caused nothing but a major headache for 2 months (and they are still surviving/reproducing). And now 5th week of flowering I'm getting some serious PH issues with most of my plants getting a lot of dead yellow/brown leaves. I think I am officially done with this brand after harvest. What do you guys recommend as a good alternative to grow in besides this shit? I have a 12 site ebb and flow going and things are looking much much better than my soil plants, but at the moment I can't afford a new hydro set up.

Thanks for any advice.

I use Metro Mix by Sun Gro. It's the "professional" version of the Sunshine soil. Less than half the price and twice as good. Fox Farm is a giant rip-off. The Metro Mix I get has TONS of perlite in it. I mean, why should I pay 26 bucks for a bag of Ocean Forest and THEN have to add more perlite to it? Total BS.

You could take a dump in a bag, write "Ocean Forest" on it, and people would buy it all day long. Fox Farm knows this too. I don't mind paying for quality, but I'm not paying for a name.

Good luck.

EDIT - I also forgot to add that I get 2.5 CF of Sun-Gro versus 1.5 CF of FFOF for half the price. And as I said, I don't have to waste even more money on perlite. And the perlite in Sun-Gro is the "Big & Chunky" style just like in FFOF.

Just to reiterate... FUCK Fox Farm and their "hippie dirt".

I use a brand by Stomata called "Dump in a Bag." It's pretty good shit, but for some reason, it has "Ocean Forest" scrawled on the front in magic marker.
