Golden Tiger - Pheno hunt

I just started germination on another 3 regular seed packs of "Golden Tiger" by Ace Seeds, with the intention of finding a male plant for f2's and polyhbrid/f1's with (Plushberry x Cuvee f2) 20211027_075434.jpg#5,20211111_015628.jpg #7,20211017_032606.jpg #51.

Im looking for a phenotype I've found before, it's got a 5+ Hour duration high, easily the best smoke I've ever had, I plan on breeding towards that effect for the next several years once I find it.

Looking forward the the updates.
Golden Tiger is next on my list of strains to grow.
Your pictures look astounding!
The beautiful thing about Golden Tiger is the heterosis/hybrid vigor you get from the malawi and thai parents, the plants just explode from the time they appear above ground.

February 1st I intend to begin flowering, I'll be able to show the differences between the malawi dominant phenos and the thai phenos. The best malawi dominant males I intend to make seeds with, as those are the most potent from my previous experience the honey/spice and granola or fruity spice phenos were the longest lasting in effect, they were easier to spot from their terps.

100% germination rate, a few seeds(3) showed some mold webbing inside of the rapid rooter, so I dropped some myco powder on top and some water, seems to have fought off whatever fungi was, happy to see all 36 taproots piercing through, all getting watered and topped off with mycorhizzal powder.

100% showing heads above ground, some are really stretching, I'm going to keep a close eye on them over the next few days, I want to document which plants show the fastest root growth and highest vigor, hopefully it correlates strongly with more potent plants.

Those buds look great, so dense too!

When I grew Malawi x Panama (Ace Seeds - 100% Sativa), I thought they were going to be wispy Sativa buds.
But, they were easily as large (and as dense) as any Indica plants I grew :)
Yea, there's plenty potential in GT for high yielding phenos, this hunt isn't about yield, but if i find the right heavy plant, I have #51 to breed that trait with. I'm searching for a specific effect, if a male can pass it on, #5,#7 have the terps worth breeding with.

Sub’d been looking at Golden Tiger for years. I’m anxiety prone, which is why I have strayed from it. Good luck on the grow
The thai varieties don't seem to have any anxiety producing effects, just clear and slowdrip of dopamine kinda effect, with a strong caffeine/stimulant effect coupled with it. The malawi/silver pheno is the rollercoaster, some last more than 4-5 hours.

Most of the seedlings are now showing 3/5 finger leafs, a week and a half before I top these plants, then once more in 3 weeks. I want them to bush out wide rather than up to keep them alongside more mature clones. I did a smell test on all of the leaflets, some are showing their odors early.
2 × funky plants
1 x Tropical/pineapple
3 × Mango spice
3 × Honey/spice :weed:
5 x pine/black pepper that are probably males
A few I cannot place, but the early expression of strong terps usually are a good sign.

Just under a week until transferring pots and topping. Most plants are looking healthy, a few look so so and one plant is pretty gnarly on the first few leaves, likely a mutant.
3 weeks until flowering.

Honey/spice sounds good!

Very interested in this project you have going! I have historically avoided growing sativa plants but I'm getting more curious about it. Malawi is one I have alot of interest in. I believe the long duration comes from higher levels of thc-v in those plants, but probably other factors at play too
