Ok, so i guess you can say im a beginner, but i managed to grow some nice pot in 4 months (from no exp at all) but i ran into several problems that ive troubleshooted myself. The strain is Cheese, feminized.
First, my plants suffered from nutrient burn, i was overfeeding them almost everytime; big newbie mistake, What a waste of nutrients.
But then i flushed them all out and only 2 plants survived.
With that bieng said, since my plants were stressed, half of the 2 plants became hermes, pollinated themselves :(
other than a few seeds,The bud looked great, and on the 9th week i harvested.
It was looking light green, very nice crystalized, then comes the curing; which I did completely wrong

I hung them up for about half a day, then put into jars.
The bud now started to turn darker, much darker, and lost its mass n weight by 50 percent!
I would open the jars for 6 hours n close again. Did that for a week.
After the week, i layed the buds out so they can dry. n now im about a week and a half in drying n curing and im wondering what i did wrong?
Is it lack of patience? did i leave em to dry for too little? where is the smell that it had when it was growing, its practically gone.
I seemed to have followed the guidelines for curing but im confused....
how can i keep the color? how can my buds smell like they did while they were on the tree?
any other tips would be greatly appretiated, here are my beauties now. I will post pic of my new cheesers.
not over fed, almost perfect. Sorry about the lighting, but its hard tot ake pix under 400w hps lights.

Please, no negative remarks on how new i am, i just want some feedback to get better and to grow the best quality cheese i can. everyone was a newbie at one point, so please help. Thanks!

Nice plant man..

And it seems like your did mess up while curing you should of clipped and hung to dry for atleast a week before placing into jars. Losing 50% of the wet weight is normal you should even loose some more near 75%..Does you stem bend or snap when bending? The color probably changed because of the moisture in the jar. They longer your cure the more the smell should come back..How long have you been curing now?

saturday makes 2 weeks. Dont know if i should keep it in the jar and keep opening it for 6 hours a day
but why did it change so drastic?
i mean light neon green, to darkish orange, almost like mango.
what do you suggest i do? i have 6 of those btw and thanks :)

Putting uncured product in a sealed container is asking for mold. You seal the stuff after it has dried out.
After harvest I spread my bud out on 20 x 20 x 1-inch furnace filters I got at WalMart for $0.88 each. I
flip the entire filter over every other day to encourage even drying. Invest $5 in a little temp/humidity meter
and leave it in various spots around your crib until you find a spot that stays around 45-55% humidity. That's where to dry your bud.
After 6-8 days drying I put them in sealed jars and into the 'fridge. THEN, every few days open the top while the jar is out of the 'fridge and let
the jar "burp" for a few hours. You can tell from the condensation inside the jar that you are still curing your bud.

yes. bud should almost if not dry enough to smoke before jarring. jarring wet bud traps so much moisture that mold is just about inevitable.
