Going into flowering

Alright so I was planning on puting the white widow into flowering today as well as the Ipot. For veg i am using TWO 400 wattt equivalent CFLs which are 6500k daylight duh! So question is can I start my flowering 12/12 with the daylight bulbs for a week until my TWO 400 wattt equivalent 2700k warm light CFLs come in the mail? i was told they need the blue spectrum for veg and red spectrum for flowering.

The best would be to leave some of the 6500K lights throughout the whole grow as the wider the spectrum the happier your plants will be because you are simulating sunlight. I have 50% 6500K and 50% 2700K throughout the whole grow. The thing is that 6500K bulbs emit UV radiation which promotes trichome production and development hence you end up with a more potent bud. 2700K alone will give you a higher yield but not such a good bud as 6500K would alone, if you mix the spectrums you get both!

good luck and happy growin!

Awesome thanks for the great advice tomato57. I think i'll go ahead and leave my big 6500k light on top for now and replace all my smaller 6500k bulbs around my plant with some 2700k that I already have and when I get my 105 watt "400 watt equivalent" 2700k bulbs i'll put those on top and then put my smaller 6500k back around the plant. Let me know what you think.

Sounds like a good plan. I also am going to start flowering tomorrow. Just went a bought 4 55 watt or equivalent to 200 watt lights. all are 2700k and 3860 lumens. I have 2 dual spectrum 300 watt cfls or 600 wt. equivalent lights in there now. I am growing granddaddy purps, skunky monkey and somthing else. Just curious how many weeks did you veg for?? Im in my 7th week as of today. good luck on the grow brother. Just Smoke It!!

6500 will keep them shorter when the stretch starts...........

My white widow has only been in veg for about a month maybe a little longer. The Ipot is exactly a week behind the Widow. Reason for flower so early has to do alot with the amount of space I have to work with. I dont really know how much bigger it willl get during flowering but from the looks of her now i'm sure i'll have some wwork ahead of me when harvest time comes around lol. Here is a pic backround looks like shi* but got some mylar up now..View attachment 1684842

lol ya i'd like to think so. I screwed around with some bag seed a few times befor i went ahead and bought some feminized kinda gave me an idea of what to do and what not to do, unfortunatly the bag seeds came out to be male but good practice before the real thing lol any tips on what i could possibly do better would be great. After these get into flower for a month i'm going to start some autoflower blue cheese I think is what there called figured i'd see what these autoflowers are all about says from seed to bud in like 65 days but we'll see..

Sounds great! You will not regret the benefits of having a wider spectrum as del66666 said it also promotes tighter internodal spacing among other great advantages.

happy growing!

I am having a little trouble navigating this site, so would appreciate some help. I just want a simple question answered. How old (or big) should the plant be before you start it flowering? Obviously I'm a serious "newbee" and simply don't know the answer.

Hey jkath, It all depends on how big you want them? I have heard of people starting flowering only 3 weeks into veg or as huhg aas 10 weeks into veg. I just started flowering yesterday and i vegged for 7 weeks but i wanted mine alittle more bushy then tall so i waited. So personal prefrence is the way to go. Check mine out under 2nd cfl grow granddaddy prups, bubble kush and skunky monkey. good luck
