GNAT Problem please HELPP!!!

I have done some research but we have noticed a gnat problem over the past weekend. I am torn. People have suggested let the soil dry out then use 1/4 hydrogen peroxide mixed in water. I also read that if you let the soil dry out the larva might try to get into the stems in search of moisture. I am getting eager to get rid of these gnats asap before they really become infested and cause serious damage. Any ideas anyone? Help would be much appreciated!!

You need an ovicide, a repellant, and a contact killer. I use Gnatrol to kill the larvae and eggs. I make a solution of cinnamon, neem, cayenne, garlic and dr. bronners peppermint soap and after a watering spray the surface of my coco and the bottom 1/3 of my plant. This combination Gnats DO NOT like at all. 5 days with a pest strip and another application of the spray and Gnatrol and no more gnats. If you decide to make this spray, just be careful. Wearing a mask and eye protection is a good move. Also it has a strong smell so dont apply it too late or hit any flowers. Best of luck.

They do not kill the eggs and larvae and they do the real damage. They work well to catch adult gnats but you need to stop the life cycle in all stages if you already have infestation. The life cycle of the gnat is 5 days....killing the eggs is most important.

Will hydrogen peroxide kill all the larva?

There a variety of fungus and bacteria in the root zone (mycorhizzae) that are important for many reasons.....look up the product Great White, or just research Beneficial Bacteria. They shouldn't be kiilled unless there aree no other options. Look into them as supplements....they are great for root health.

Dude, Don't Panic!
It's easy to get rid of them with common "Mosquito Dunks".
I just had some recently, I went to my local WalMart & bought some.
It killed em all in 2-3 days.
No sweat!
Do this before fooling around with all the other remedies of
varying success.

They (microbes) are "bugs" that live in your media which aid the plants, and H2O2 can wipe them out if used at too high a concentration.
You can get the ovicide BTi in several products, Gnatrol, Mosquito Dunks, I used a product called Vectobac, all BTi.

soap and water ! get some no disinfectant dish soap. ok 6 drops of soap per 12 ounces of water. put it into a spray gun shake it up spray the soil just to get it wet on top. and then after it dry,s put a little of new soil on top of the soil in the pot. if possible , and the little non harmfull bugs will vanish. also leaf polish works well to if you can obtain that use both of them, also if you have those bugs your over watering. let it dry up a bit more before watering. don't use those sticky bug catchers, they always fall off into your plants and fuck them . also get a 2 liter bottle. cut it into half place the top upside down into the cut bottle. like a funnel put in vinegar . bug trap . also leave a bucket of water out they drown in it. these steps do work very well used by a lot of organic growers. and by chemical buffs like me , lol push the plants with steroids !!!
