duke, using a cool tube lets you get the light much closer to the tops which makes for MUCH more light available for the plant.
Its not only about keeping the room temps at bay.
so what he is saying is what ever light you loose with this glass that may not be as clear as a bake around is made up by the fact that you can bring the lights much closer to the plants

I don't blow glass and I bet I could cut it. I saw it on youtube where buddy cut a beer botle in 1/2 with dental floss, rubbing alcoho, a lighter water and a bita muscle. The cut was clean

Ya but hers are free till I get the hang of it. hehe
smart man i didn't think of it that
you have to pratice on some thing

re.
soak the yarn in lighter fluid (i think zippo), i herd rubbing alcohol will not work, but you can use acidtone (finger nail polish remover)
tie it around the base of the vase nice a sung
squart more lighter fluid on it try not to get it on nothing but the yarn
lite on fire
when the fire starts putting it self out
place base of vase in ice cold water
tapping the base on the side of ice water container while still submerged
then try to twist and pull apart with hands

try beer then wine then rum bottle's
then the wife vase
