Hi, I have a girl scout cookie forum cut and they andll right before flower if I let them get big or right after I switch to flower, start doing this.

This guy had been in the flower room for bout 3 weeks. This seems like a very specific deficiency. MG possibly?

Let me know what you guys think.

I grow in 5 gals, all organic. Room is about 77° RH about 55%
first pic is of whole plant second of def/issue. Plant is healthy as fuk otherwise..

How often are you watering/how wet do you keep the soil? Looks like your roots may be unhappy. That or manganese.

I've been working with GSC for a couple of years, and they tend to be a hungrier plant than others. And I've corrected the rusty leaf problem without MG.
What did work for me was a little extra feed of either a peters 20-20-20 or Maxicrop 0-0-1 but without knowing the specifics of your soil, or other variables Its just a guess.

I got a clone and grew it out. It started the rusty leaf and then 1 of the 3 main branches started to get really yellow. The other two started right after I flipped to flower. It lasted a few weeks and was really bad. The worst I have ever seen a plant of mine get. I flushed it out and fed with a light compost tea and then put some 5-5-5 as a top dress w some EWC. A week later...killed it. It never could recover.

I use the revs mix. It's a butt load of different dry amendments. Too many to list honestly in the amounts that were called for. I'll take a pic of the ingredient list when I go back to the grow tomorrow.

She looks really healthy but darker green also. Then the rusty leaf starts and I'm just trying to avoid this plant going down the shitter.

I have a smaller one that was stressed some how during transplant and took forever to get going. It started rusty leaf when it was and bout 1/3 the size of the one I posted just now.

My soil temp is the same as always honestly. It goes up sometimes during the summer but it's not near the temps that would do that right now

@grower gone this is what is going on now. Look familiar at all? She just had some rusty leaves now she's turning purple around the outsides. This I remember starting happening to the first one who ended up dieing. I've never had one of my plants die.

Otherwise she doesn't look bad and normally I wouldn't trip but if I remember correctly, the rusty leaf then purplish then necrosis then death so trying to be proactive!

Anyone else's inputs appreciated

GSC leaves will change color, they have dark purple/ black hues during flower.

GSC is a heavy feeder, you say the rusts are started with starved clones, I find the same "rust" starts if she wants nutrition, I found that maxicrop 0-0-1 seaweed will fix it. The only other time I've seen anything like that is from abiotic factors, like light burn.

Other than that, I'm not familar with revs TLO style, or formulation.

Right I knew it was a purple plant, it just seemed the first time to go through those stages. The leaves all started to die back, almost like they went getting enough light but it was happening at the tops of colas even.

The revs mix worked for awhile but recycling it has created havoc. I now do a 1:1:1 peat, ewc, aeration plus some dry amendments and a mineral mix. Just started actually. Hoping this new style will keep her healthy.

I gave some 5 5 5 to her as a top dress and fed w a kelp tea once or twice and I thought the extra nutes killed her honestly so when u said she was a heavy feeder I got a bit thrown back.

When you said the 0 0 1 I was thinking that the deficiency could be K. Stems are turning purple and are hard and not very bendy if at all

Funny you say that, I've had some feedback on the cut being nute sensitive I've handed out hundreds of these cuts... I've fixed by adding more not by using less.

But when I compare it to others, It needed more feed to make things right. For example, I was running subcools SS mix, and thats a rich mix. all I needed to add was a little compost tea, and a tiny bit of guano's for top dressing and I use a product called recharge.

Now the guy I got my cut from (IC mag forum cut) feeds heavy in hydroponics, using peters hydroponic mix and I've found the same thing pushing high PPMs using typical bloom forumlas (GH Flora Nova) in my recycling drip setup.

I would use plant based PK boosters if you are going in that direction.. From what I understand rev's style uses alot of manures and some odd things like the manure spiking procedure. The dude grow show talked about it. I'm not a big fan of that due to the salinity of manures. I'll use them but in a very limited way like shallow incorporation in the top layer.

Best of luck to you.

Yeah to me seems sensitive to nutes. I don't do the revs spikes or layers. I grow in 5 gallons and his spikes are for things smaller, at least that's what he says in his book.

I'll take that pic tomorrow of what I put in when I started. I'm going to get it tested also sp there is no guessing. I'll keep you posted. Anyone else's input would be appreciated! Thanks

I have not seen anything about the water you are using. Is it tap, well RO? I have had issues with TLO Rev style and my water. I have well water that is usually decent but in the dry months it gets a bit out of wack and causes problems in TLO.

Yeah, I'm going with P or K problems. Yours looks closer to P problems, but I've corrected it with 0-0-1 maxicrop. One of the details I failed to mention is that I was doing a foilar feed with maxicrop in early flower. Since its not the actual tip burning, I'm still thinking there's not enough P as shown by the chart.

One thing I noticed is that you mentioned using a 5-5-5 to fix things in soil. I dont like to use synthetics on soil. I'm concerned about the mycorraize and roots, that supposedly decreases the uptake of P&K.

I used organicare 6 6 5. It's omri.

Tries to do a video but won't let me here is a bunch of photos of what's going on today, she's a bit rough

Pics show whole plant basically then like each side then a close up of the bud which look great (flash makes everything look better )

Forgot to mention, I top dressed w ewc at time of flip to flower and have given the following teas.

2/20 Flower flip + EWC top dress
3/18 coconut water "tea"
3/25 kelp + aloe
3/30 will get barley SST

Anyone that grows GSC help me out? Got another generation following suit....tried adding compost on top and seemed to yellow and purple more...

1st pic of canopy
2nd pic of affected leaf
**3rd of what the 2nd pic eventually turns into
4th pic are of what top leaves do. Lots of purple that ends up turning yellow, shrivel and necrosis

Wtf mates?

**K so it didn't post right of course...last pic is of the 3rd pic, the one the 2nd turns into

Over fed I think looks like chem burn but I'm on my first run with gsc plunty of soil experience with other strains if it keeps going flush your soil with pH adjusted water I would even put bennies in it because when u flush chances are you will get root rot and the bennies will help fight that if you decide to go that route

@Tripp2005 I feel that there is no way my soil has the nutes that could cause this though.

This guy has been in a:
2 part peat
1 part ewc
1 part perlite
Mix

That is literally the lightest mix I have and it's doing this.

In contrast, the big guy that has survived the longest and has buds and will finish without actually going crispy and dead, is in a mix that is:
2 part roots organic 707
.5 part roots organic original
1 part perlite
1 part ewc

But this plant barely made it. Super purple, small buds, ridged stems leaves curing back w necrosis but not affecting buds
