Growing 5 Next Generation Dynamite(Grapefruit Indica) Feminized, started on 12/20/11

Room stats-

Temp: 91 - 76
Light: 600 MH
DWC
Nutes: Foxfarm Grow big big bloom tiger bloom
PH: 5.8
Rez Temp: 78
Humidity: 46%

The leaves on one of the plants are appearing to be taking on the shape of a crunchy taco! WTF? Posting some pictures. One of the healthier plants is taking on the same shape on just one of it's leaves. Does anyone know why this could be? Looked into the possibility of magnesium, iron defficiency and ph fluctuation but none of them seem to be an identical match to what I'm seeing. Another one of the plants is growing at much slower speed than the others and seems to be the runt of the litter. Take a look, any advice would be helpful. Thank you!

Well, it obviously isn't a watering issue in DWC. You said ambient temp is 91 degrees, heat stress is my guess.

What is your ppm? You will need to get it cooler in there with the lights on and you need to lower your res temps also. Heat stress might be your culprit. Do you have a fan blowing on them?

Thanks for the quick response :) Why do you think it's just the one plant? I mean, with the exception of the mild curling on the other plant. I considered heat stress a few days ago and moved them farther away from the light but no change so far. Any other guesses? Possibly genetics? I'll be cloning as soon as possible so maybe that will provide the answer.

Yes..I had a box fan blowing directly on them at the start but have since raised it and aimed it to the right of them. I also have an air purifier blowing from outside of the closet door (through the slats), both on low speeds.

I am strictly a soil grower so I cannot advise on hydro methods, as far as ppm, nutes, res temp etc etc. Sorry i could not be of more help.

in pic humidity is at 37%...could be allot higher for veg try 60%... lower temp raise humidity as already stated by GrowTC.....also how far is your light away from plants?

way hot for the little ones. cool it to 75-78ish. kill the air purifier for now im sure they don't smell yet.Hmmm... genetics good question. im growing romulan from next generation and not having as much fun as i would like. my first guess from loking at the pics is not enough water. From the temps you stated its too hot.

Def sounds like the temp is the issue, i would maybe add another fan in there as an exhaust fan and turn your intake fan up to get better circulation.

Thanks for all the feedback! The light is 3 ft away from the tops. I will be adding a CFM vortex fan to help cool the light/room. For now the air purifier is just acting as a fan to help with the cooling and circulation of the room. How do I go about raising the humidity? As for the "taco" plant - do I leave it alone for now and see how it works out, or should I just toss it? I'm thinking for fun I should clone it when ready to answer the question on genetics. Maybe a flush might help..?

Misting and add a bucket with an air-stone in it, in your area, should help increase humidity :)

that one plant obviously is more sensitive to extreme flux in environment...it is up to you what to do with it?......it should bounce back...but might not be as vigorous as the rest? peace.
