Ghetto Micro Grow, 1st CFL try, official noob journal

Looking great,
the buds are really noticable now,

The heat is rediculous here. im on the east coast and we have had the most humid hazy hot days. hopefuly you got those plants safe.

yea i cant see any of the main stem on the 3 top buds anymore.

its just one plant. its been topped and grew out 3 tops instead of 4?

I just put my girl under 12/12 two days ago, 154 watts of CFL

the dead leaves are normal. the first leaves never last it seems. my plant has had several leaves die, and ive usually just trimmed them off.

as far as the stem though, it does looks rather large. but hey thats a good thing i guess. do you have a fan blowing directly on the plant?

also did you top it? if you topped it and havnt let it grow out from being topped, i wouldnt put it under 12/12 yet. give it time to heal up that cut and start to grow out of it a node or two

Oh yeah this plant has undergone topping at the base( clones) i think.

I have a big window fan on her. It used to make her lean but now she wont budge ").

Other than that a couple nodes have popped out.

Hey OP, you've got some severe clawing going on there bud! lol, You sure your PH is in check? Other than that things lookin great man!.. Oh, and you can always plug another power strip into the one you have now, thus making more outlets so you could plug in more sockets so you could have more light. BAM! lol

Here are some pics @ 13 weeks from seed.

the plant is doing ok. the top near the bulbs still shows sign of heat stress, but the bottom branches look ok. its pushing 20 inches now. im still feeding it the miracle grow house plant food but im going to stop that soon.

not gonna lie, pretty baked so i cant think of too much else to tell you.

i topped mine as well, but the oddest thing happened. most people get 4 top colas when they top a plant...i only got 3?

hey i just read ur whole journal but i wanted to know what this topping discussion was about. could u elaborate on what topping is exactly and why you chose to do it at 6". Ive just been reading up alot before i start my first grow and alot of seed companies advertise flowering in 60 days and their plants seem to be much smaller. How tall is yours now?

Read through your whole journal also. Normally I just check the ends to see if it was decent but I was curious about your nutrients and lighting. My current grow is similar to yours in size and style, but I do need to get some more lights in there. Looking forward to seeing how your harvest turns out.

You can top it whenever. ive seen people on here top their plants at all different heights. it helps control the height of the plant and the number of main colas you get. if you want a tall plant with multiple top colas, top when its taller, if you want a short one like mine with multiple colas, top when its small.

thanks for the rep. I've been keeping it as basic as i can. basic low grade nutes, tap water, and some ghetto rigged lights. i would like to have had a few more lights through flowering, but like ive said in previous posts, i just didnt have the room or outlets.

For my light I used one of the work lights (like for under the hoods of cars) and put a few y-splitters on it so I ended up with 4 lights. I kind of regret it in hindsight because I know I need to get some more lights in there like yours, but there's just no room, I'd have to start my rig over. Maybe next time around.

i am open minded, i dont have any where to plug the strip in. all my plugs in my room are taken. im not just makin stuff up

As much as I don't want to, I'm going to be chopping early. I live in an apartment, and the smell is getting uncontrollable, everyone who walks into our apartment the first thing they say is "damn it smells like chronic in here". Even though its in my closet (one of the central most spots in our place) and behind a curtain and both the closet door and bedroom door shut. I've also tripped the breaker for my half of the apartment on more than 1 occasion (and you people kept telling me to ADD lights!)

anyway

I started flushing with just straight water and no nutes this morning.

1. How long will i need to feed it straight water before it flushes out any chemicals i've fed it?

2. Should i trim the leaves while the buds are still on the plant? or chop the branches off then trim the leaves?

3. The buds are COVERED in crystals, but the leaves not so much, should i take the time to try and collect and keep them? Or should they really be covered to be of any use?

4. Any additional info would be appreciated.


Im gonna miss growing a plant, but im going to like having the extra space back in my closet
