Ghetto Grow from Hell

Also try not to grow so many in one container they're gunna fight over water and nutes... you'd be better off putting them in party cups then one big tub, just my thoughts

Impressive grow! i like how its all in one bit tub seems efficient cuz they are so close together. question: how do you drain the water from the bottom of the tub??? or do you?

I do use drainage holes and solid colored plastic for the first grow on the mg potting mix as it usually needs a good flush at one point . After that first grow you can dump it in a clearish tote and watch the soil as is lightens up and acually see your moister level and root formations .

I like the almost clear ones as they block most light - but i can acually monitor the moister and avoid root rot to begin with , you can catch them first getting fuzzy easy this way and intervene quicker . I fully reckomend good drainage with plenty of perlite at the bottom , but after awhile you get a feel for your system and really have a pretty good idea of when to water . This is one of those things that you have to decide for yourself ... I just like being able to monitor the water and roots better . The mix I use more often than not will need a better flush than I can give without drain holes - but only on its first grow - so I just use the solid colored ones for the first run on the soil with drainholes - and the clearish one's without drainhole's when I'm controling the nutes .

If you read the begining post you will see that is exactly how we started .. all the veggitation you see will be culled down to 6 or 7ish good females . Appreciate the input but would suggest actually reading a post before offering too many thoughts on them... just saying
.... thanx for looking though

Aw man, this reminds me a lot of my first 1.5 grows (second had to get slashed).
Luckily I've gained a little more privacy/security.. and well assets. For my first grow it was ghetto by need more than paranoia but, good weed growing lessons learned either way.

Check out my Grow Dresser thread (I never got too dedicated to that thread- I'll try to post a picture or two of late flowering if I didnt).
It was built from walmart/home depot. The home depot's around here carry small (100w) MH security lights, which I made grow lights of and had a moderately successful grow. You might be able to rip somethings off from it :p

Also, I made a DIY cooltube for the 100w MH later, which is in my the thread in my sig. No reason to forget price saving DIY skills

Anyhow, great setup for the budget, and it looks like you're really getting the max out of your setup too, so kudos

thanx for the input ! I took a walk through a local hardware store and saw some really big cfl's and a streetligh setup with a bigass hps , little tweaking and a retrofitted reflector could be that next step for us ... and we wouldnt have to order anything . rep+ cool dresser by the way

Ok to start with - I am a true paranoid about growing my own stash ! Because of this I wont order any good genetic seeds , grow lights , high end soil or nutes ... to sum it up .. If I cant get it at wal-mart , Freds , or the rural King - I just cant use it  This leaves me very limited to supplies - so I have become very fond of cheap ghetto growing .
I hear what you're saying about being paranoid, but you don't necessarily need to limit yourself to bag seed on account of that. http://www.weedportal.com/ is the anonymous mail-order site for Nirvana seeds. Prints out a form and gives you an mailing address. $1 for an airmail stamp, $25-40 for the seeds, and your golden. Of course, mailing cash is an act of faith (and you need to be careful to hide it in camoflage paper inside the envelop so it don't get stolen), but from personal experience, it works! Got my Wonder Woman seeds in 3 weeks and change, and they're growing awesome. I've done bagseed grows before, but I will never do one again.

Awesome! Here are some pics of my ghetto grow! Its in a closet in my spare bedroom. Here we have four 4' Cool White fluorescent bulbs, Miracle Grow organic soil, MG nutes. The seeds are El Monstre F2 (freebies from Sannies and they're awesome) and Lowryder which seem kinda shitty honestly. They're about 8 weeks old (I lost a few weeks due to certain variables). This entire setup cost me about $125 dollars.

harvested a tote today .. gonna try the water cure method on one of the colas . We will airdry and cure the rest as normal . I have read a few post about the watercure and get mixed reviews ... but hell I'll try anything once . Best case we get some early cured bud to burn while the rest is still curing .

heres a shot of our little play thing .. we have been pinching back this poor little girl for ever now just taking the buds as they matured to see how it went . She obviously got tired of being a little bud cow and went went back into veg. She is still budding also though ... now its turning into a ball of bud and newgrowth, funny looking as hell ... lol

Ok ... heres a good ghetto tidbit that that will save money and improve your soil while you get to reuse it over and over . As I mentioned earlier we harvested out a tote this evening - so nows when we " refresh our soil " We literally add a bunch of worms to the tote .. We throw anywhere from 100 to 200 nightcrawlers and earthworms to it ... throw some used coffee grinds and or tea to the top and set it aside to rest . The longer you let it rest the better it will get . We will rest our soil for weeks with the worms and throw some fast breaking down organics in through this rest also . Egg shells work great ! Bury them well though or they will stink .. trust us un this one ... the worms will refresh your soil the natural way - they help remove the toxin build up , break down the added goodies and make the freshest worm castings you can get right in the soil

;-)

been rollin around the idea of leaving the worms in a tote and planting a healthly female right in the middle . I would think they would help ariate your roots and keep natural wormcasting going throughout the grow . They dont seem to hurt the plants in nature and this would go a long way towards a complete organic grow if it worked out . We will surley have to test this ........

Awesome idea man!! they will eventually eat the old roots in there to so the soil will be clear of anything fucking up your next grow...it wont let me rep you, but i would dude

I am definately interested in this! :D +REP and keep us updated on how the plants grow with worms in there. It kinda creeps me out to have worms in my house but the thought of those worms eating all the harmful shit and the old roots sounds amazingly brilliant.
