Gh Lucas formula any good?

I’ve been adding extra boosters and bennies and it’s got too the point I’ve got like 5 extra bottles of shite.

I want to go back to basics and just have a simple regiment. I don’t even know if all the stuff I’ve added has improved anything as it’s been a slow process over the years adding more stuff.

has anyone had any experience with using just gh micro and bloom?
0-8-16 is what I’ve read? Although I probably end up using something like 0-4-8 in dwc where the roots have constant access to nutes right?

I've used it for several grows. Still currently use it. Although I must admit I use head method or whatever it's called for coco and in flower i use the 8-16 since the EC ends up pretty low imo.

Only additives I use are 3ml/gallon calmag 2ml/gallon protekt silica.View attachment 4811431View attachment 4811432View attachment 4811433
Thanks for your input bud, what do you mean by head method?
Do you actually need the calmag? As in did you have deficiency when running just micro and bloom?

I second adding cal mag and silica to the basic Lucas 8/16 ml/g formula I always went with 5ml/gallon for both and my plants always seemed to thrive

did your calmag and silica ratio change with the micro and bloom?

for eg 0-8-16-5calmag-5silica
Then 0-4-8-2.5-2.5

or do you always keep 5ml of the calmag and silica?

Look up head method coco on Google. Just a variant suited for coco

I noticed some calcium deficiency late flower last run, where I discontinued silica and calmag week 3 of flower. Figured this time I'd run straight through and see how it goes. Plants look a little healthier to me

It works fine, depending on medium you like cal-mag, silica like they say is great. I also add floricious to help with flavor.

An oldy but goody is Maxibloom KISS method https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=191645
it's 7g per gallon according to the guide, but that's way too high ppms for me, so just adjust down to what you want for your medium. 1.0 EC/500ppm works well for coco. Whether or not you need either calmag or a little epsom salts depends on your water, but when I first used this many years ago, I had a great grow with just the MB. I'm considering going back to this method right now for two reasons: one, Maxibloom has no detectable arsenic or cadmium according to third party testing, and two, I'm going to increase the size of my grow soon, so it's time to simplify and lower costs.

Don't be afraid to use the grow in veg. For flower the Lucas formula is pretty solid. As others have said add at least 2ml/gallon of cal mag especially if using led lighting. Silica in veg as well is beneficial.

I did Maxibloom, Root Excelurator and CALMAG start to finish in DWC ec 1.2
Great result!

I was liking the simplicity of only buying 2 of the 3 bottles.

am I likely to have issues in veg without the veg bottle?

I don't mess with bottles but, of my friends who do, the ones who run the Lucas formula without bloom boosters and a bunch of extra crap have the best-tasting bud by far. The ones who can't keep themselves from tweaking and adding stuff all the time like a mad scientist usually end up with harsh buds that leave a lot of black residue in a glass pipe.
