There are many GG#4 S1's out there and I have yet to see one that can hold a candle to the original cut. I think many people are smoking and growing S1's and think it's the real cut.

I think it's just comes down to your access to proven genetics. GG is the first "clone only" for a lot of people, which has seem to create a cult following.

This is my guess. A lot of people lie and capitalize on whatever the hottest strains are. Selling bag seed close for $250 a piece and telling people they're GG4. I've seen scumbags selling rip offs many times.
It's the real deal IMO, not that it matters much on the Internet....

Overrated or not I went ahead and jumped on the hype train after hopefully getting a couple of legit cuts of it. Maybe I'll like it and maybe I won't, but IMO most people have their own acquired tastes for weed. Personally I have yet to find a strain I like better for myself than the Pineapple Express I run, which is from a cut I got from Upper Michigan like 6 years ago. Do I think it's the best weed there is? Not at all but it's the best I've found for what I like in my buzz. As far as the glue goes, I'll refrain from passing too much judgement on it myself as long as it yields decent. I'll let my patients be the final judges. If the strain is solid and I do my part correctly I usually don't get very many complaints from them. Of course, I've never charged anywhere near 250 an ounce either. Not trying to knock anybody who does, I just don't.
my first GG harvest is 3 weeks away and that was a clone from NC, my first clone sent to me.

I've been playing with GG4 since the fall of 2013 and she still maintains a regular spot in my garden and medicine cabinet today. I cannot say the same about many of the "elite genetics" floating around on clouds of hype. Then again, I am a powerful sativa fan in general and know she will not tickle everyone's fancy.

I've sampled PPP before and honestly I can't say it was as good as you're making it out to be. Yup, I didn't pop the bean but saw the empty pack my friend ran we I picked up the cut… genius all the way, picture vines zig zaggin through the forest, thats how this thing branches… of course I've hit her with any pollen I had laying around.. and I have a pack of Motorebel A11 x A13 F4 waiting to be popped and used to pollenate the original A11
Yes, yes he did… mrsoul_99 or mrsoul_c99 is his IG handle… genius is 1 of 3 pheno's from the original seeds they popped… of course the princess cut is the C99… the genius cut became Apollo 11…. I think Apollo 13 was 11 x C99…..

HTCC in Amsterdam has always been about the money… I'm sure the cups local are no different…
I like your attitude dude, I got a blueberry cut, grown right is going to place in any cup and here is the thing about say Blueberry… yes my cut is fucking amazing but DJS did the work in this strain… there is a good chance in 20 beans you'll get one as good…. can you say that for GG4? This should be a requirement for competition, must be a cut you created and must be available in LEGIT seed form not some cross of it or some stupid S1… step up the game!!
