Getting into the BHO Scene

Got my hands on a hp of some high grade shake so I decided I'd give BHO a try. I have all quality equipment and nothing was "rigged" for this. I have a 2 oz glass extraction tube and used newport butane for all blasts. I've only got two runs under my belt but it seems like everything turned out pretty nicely. The first batch was only vacuum purged for about 6 hours but the second batch let purge on constant heat for about 20 hours and got a lighter color and a smoother taste. In all of the pictures what seem to look like bubbles are all popped and do NOT have butane trapped inside I assure you. Just wanted to get others input on my final product and any tips would be greatly appreciated. I did two separate runs and got a consistent 15% return on both runs.

looks tasty! ive only blasted 2 or 3 runs myself, and it always looked like that. ive also tried working it some more after that stage, if you warm it up a bit and whip it, then purge again, it becomes more opaque and buttery looking honeycomb. i guess its just a matter of preference, what texture you want in the end.. personally i like it to be clear like yours though so id just leave it be and try it out!

Very nice looking oil from shake man. And 15% return from shake is very high return in my findings.

One thing I noticed in your pics is that the paper you have it on looks like it may be wax paper, not parchment. I may be wrong but it looks too clear colored to be parchment. If it is wax paper you will want to avoid using that and get yourself some parchment paper. Wax paper will melt and could get itself into your oil. Parchment is teflon coated so it is the preferred choice.

Do a burn test and see if it snaps or crackles at all then you'll know if you got some tane left trapped in it.

If you don't have a vac, then you should 'winterize' or long time heat purge. I would suggest winterize with everclear and make some shatter. Check youtube, it's not too difficult.
