Germination Problems

I know this is going to sound stupid, but I literally think I steamed my seeds to death. I read some instructions on germinating seeds telling me to put them in damp paper towel in a tuperware and then place them in an electric heating pad on low. I believe now that it was not low enough and have just fried the hell out of my seeds. I have so many failing to germinate. Some even cracked out with a little tap root and stopped. Is there anyway of saving these?

They don't need to be warm necessarily...just the temperature of the room will do fine (65F - 75F).

Remove the heating pad and see if your success rates improve. I germinate with no extra heat in a space that is between the two temperatures above.

Thanks, I came up with a pretty crazy solution to some of them. Putting them in a DWC with a black trash bag over them and a cfl light. left it alone for like 5 days and it was trying to sprout through the piece of black trash bag. it worked as like a super humididome.

wet kitchen paper, puts seeds on paper cover with more damp paper put on a plate, cover with bowl and leave in warm room. 2 to 10 days seems about norm. if u want soak them in a cup of water overnite . they usually sink when theyre full of water but sumtimea little airpocket may keep them afloat. then put them in the paper.
