Germinating

How long can I leave seeds in paper towel for if they have germinated?

Just wasn't expecting them, and now I'm not exactly ready for them

I wouldn't leave them in there for more than a couple days after they sprout. The tap root can grow in to the paper towel and you can damage it when taking it out to plant. Also, it can get moldy. You should be OK for a couple days but I wouldn't risk any longer. I've had them grow leaves when in the paper towel, and like I said, it was a pain in the ass to not damage it when moving them to a pot. Good luck

Forget all the paper towel shit, just get a small pot fill with compost put seed in and cover with a clear plastic bag, easy iv done it years ,,,never fails

I have one with a 1.5" tap root, and I do have a 3gal pot and some medium I used for my outdoor stuff. I just don't have any lights setup yet.

I found these seeds in some floor boards that the old tenant of the house left around. I wasn't assuming anything.

why are you asking germination questions when you've done them before outside

Oh well your all set then, put them in the pot with the soil and they'll be fine even in the dark until they pop out of the soil

Well, when the cops raided the previous home owner, they dumped all his soil outside in snow banks. When the snow melted, and the ground unfroze, there were 6 plants growing in the middle of my yard.

why didn't the cops take them
No, those are the plants the popped up in the middle of my lawn after the snow went away. I transplanted them into the garden I started. The cops took everything from the old tenant except there was tons of trim all over the house and shed, hence how I've been finding seeds everywhere, lol.

So I found some time a little bit ago to get my one germinated seed into some medium.

I lightly watered the hole, and when I went to grab the little root out of the paper towel, it was like 2.5 inches long, and had some leaves, lol. I stuck it in the medium, and left the top out because of the little leaves.

I also decided to put it under my t5s sort of. I leaned the t5 against the wall and put the little 1gal pot as tight into the light as I could.

I also took the rest of the seeds, and dropped them in water.

It can't hurt, they were in paper towel for 4 days I think, and if they didn't pop yet, I doubt they will now. It doesn't take any time though to drop them in water and exhaust every option.
