Germinating Question

I was just wonder how long do the little white sprouts have to be before i place them in the soil?

(Im growing outdoors so il be putting them straight into soil potting mix)

like usually 1/4 inch or at least thats what i do and it always works for me

i usually wait till they are 1/2" long, but you can plant them sooner if you want. I found its best to let them get a decent sprout going first.
