I recently got a drip system and i transplanted my spacebomb from seed into it.. i have botanicare grow bloom and karma i just got a timer for the drip system and was wondering how i would set the timer for its watering schedule. Ten min every 4 hours? I read on here.but would like to hear some input from others If they have the same or similar system

That is a good jump off point. I would start there and adjust accordingly to what the plant is showing you as time goes on. The plant will tell you if it's to much or to little.

Edit: the grow medium your using will also dictate how often you can feed.

I have im usin hydroton and i have pretty cool temps 72 d with lights on 68 off. So my medium seemd to stay damp. How do u have your watering schedule setup?

You need to pick a watering schedule to start out with then look at your plants over the next couple weeks and adjust accordingly different strains do different things so you are gonna have to watch and see what they like and dont like.
Why are using a drip system with DWC, thats not needed at all.

^^ all good advice.. if you notices clawing leaves your over water.. if you see nute burns obviously you need to tone down the nutes <- two biggest issues to keep an eye out

Drip DWC is a gimmick put out by GH imo. Either do standard DWC which is a flawless method to grow, time and time again shows amazing results. Or you can go with RDWC ...not the best method tho for multiple strains.

Edit: throw out the drippers and push some more bubbly into the mix!

Opinions are so strong among "weed heads" - I am taking advice from my co-op operator who actually does recommend the drip in DWC. He said don't take it from me - do your own comparisons, so I did and found BETTER results. I suggest if you're truly confused by the heavy handed professional advice you're getting in forums - compare the methods for yourself. Peace.

Fyk I think the "drip" you're talking about and the drip they're talking about are two different things..

A normal drip runs off a water pump, recirculating nutrients instead of just aerating like an airpump.

I know a lot of people that have more success running both air and water pumps instead of just one or a combination anyway.

I'm far from professional, but I've got a few growing years experience.

Ah; thanks VO - seems the same discussion that you and I had a few days ago. I must be confusing folks when I reference the halo irrigaton I'm using. At any rate, I hopelessly followed the advice of folks in forums until I finally got my feet wet with first-hand experimentation, and I remember thinking, "why was I so afraid to find out for myself." I wish I hadn't wasted a year chasing everyone else's advice, and just spent the time experimenting. Getting ideas is great, but some folks can steer a newb wrong with such heavy handed opinions. Walk softly on impressionable newbs; that's all I'm looking for. Peace.

Drip on DWC = Bubbleponics.

Drip is fine dude but I see it serves no purpose when the roots hit the water. I mean all you will be doing is causing aggravation to yourself because the pump will add some heat to reservoir causing the grower to bitch and complain about slime in the res and what not. Water temps are vital in DWC/Bubbleponics keeping them under 70 degrees ensures no major problems. The drips definitely help untill the roots are drinking water. To each their own though and growers should find a way that works best for them.

Nope, GH's drip system, Waterfarm, is a piece of shit. Especially if you put an air stone in the reservoir. You will get crap-tastic roots and no growth at all from plants. Why would you ever consider making a hybrid of bubbleponics and DWC?! You're just crazy............. .____.

Now that were past all of the bull shit, here's the truth. Waterfarm's are amazing. 95% of the aeration is broken at the surface to surface contact of the water dripping through the hydroton (DWC can't do that ;D). That's why you don't need to hybridize it with an air stone to make it DWC too. However, I would argue that my roots wouldn't be nearly as dense or as massive without the air stone within the water itself going. I've been using Waterfarm for about a year now and love it. Excellent growth rates, on par if not better than just a standard DWC. Fantastic health and vigor with the plant. Makes growing so much more simple. But remember, it is just a rip off and sucks.....

Say what you will about GH's drip system, but the proof is in the pudding. Waterfarm for life!

10 minutes ever 4 hours should be good to start a seedling with. I would say once you a solid week or two into veg growth (about 3 or 4 weeks in total) turn it on full time. You really don't want water going stagnant. That breeds anaerobic bacteria and fungus that you really don't want.
