General Hydroponics

I just bought the 3 part nutrient line from General Hydroponics (bloom, grow, micro) to try it out side by side with my current nutes to see which I like better. I am running it in RDWC. I have been tipped off that the Lucas formula is a good way to mix the nutes, but as it uses only 2 and I have already bought three I am looking for a few different options. Here are my questions.

1. Can you recommend a chart or sight that has a mixing guide laid out that differentiates between Vegetative and Flowering stages, that uses all three, and that you personalty have used and know to work well?

2. Should I just mix to the specifics that GH give me and not go for a "home made" mix?

3. Is it cool to switch to these nutes mid flower cycle during a regular nutrient change or should I hold off and start a clone fresh with only these nutes?

Thanks!

If your doing a side by side test then it would be better if you started with both nutes at the same time. I have used GH for a number of years and it gives very good results. Personally I used my own formulas but based them on GH's mixing instruction. The biggest difference between veg and flower is the amount of bloom you add. In veg I was using 1/4 of bloom to every ml of the veg and micro bottle, in flower it was 1:1:1.

easy stuff to use with good results.

Good Luck

Good to know, I have about 3 weeks before I can get two plants going into flower the same day, and once I do I will be using one with the tried and true Technaflora formula, and the other will be the GH. This way I can have a good side by side and see which one seems to be the best. I only have 1 6 bucket UC system built as of now so the two test subjects will be in individual DWC buckets, just the air stone.

Also, this is my new room, just finished it up today, I will have a new video up tomorrow with all my girls. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4DXt020pL4 if you like it feel free to like or comment.

I use gh products only! i've done crazy additive solution grows that cost a fortune and i've come to the conclusion its all bullshit! Get plants with good genetics, keep a clean grow room with good grow conditions, and keep your Ph where it should be and your plants will reward you. I'm currently using the Lucas formula, and I will never do a BS over nute grow again. This is my current grow!

GH micro, and GH bloom and that's it! Its all your plants need! Took me a while to try it because I bought into all the hype...but its the shit! Allot of growers here follow the same. Search Lucas formula on Yahoo, he has a website explaining it! Its very easy and works like no other!

Great set up! I love the raptor hood! Be Careful with your nutrient in that system, start off from clone using 1\4 of the recommended amount and take it up from there. If you go full strength you'll fry the plants.

beside micro and bloom would you consider adding anythittle.for a ling else for bloom enhancers or no? it just seems spending like 30 bucks for 2qts each and olny needing that seems a little off but I also bought into the need 7 bottles to work. I have tried technaflora and it did alright. but I would want to try to make it less nutrient intake and me spending my money on them.

I've been doing some research in the Lucas formula. Several sources say to use 5-10 for veg and 10 -16 flower but on the lucas site itself it says to use 5-10 in both cycles? What do you use? And considering how cheap this formula is to run compared to any other worthy competition, can you recommend a good additive or two, preferably something that I used in only veg or only flower? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4DXt020pL4

I will be starting the lucas formula for the next grow, I want to get rid of all the rest of the nutes I have. I don't really wanna waste them ya know.

Yeah that's why I a taking my time coming up with a formula, I have a good amount, gallon jugs left (of the ones I use very little of) of each. So the switch over will be gradual Any ideas on what mix you will use?

A pound of monopottasium phosphate "available online for under ten dollars a pound" and a some magnesium sulphate "available at any drugstore for a couple bucks" and you can make tens of gallons of what is basically most bloom boosters. If it will do your plants any good is something else. Treat them right and give them basic nutrition and they will perform as well as they can. Environment and lighting is more important than what nutes you use.

I've been using to the T a prefabed Mix, I'm not feeling froggy enough to start using straight chemicals, I think I'll stick with nutes for now.
