General Hydroponics Flora vs. Advanced Nutrients Jungle Juice

I am currently growing Agent Orange and I was using Technaflora's nutes and I had good results with them but decided to try something different and went with the AN Jungle Juice. Two and a half weeks into vegging and my plants were stunted, purple stems and even had stopped growing. I realized it was nutrient lockout. I was using the lucas formula and my PH was correct. Anyway just last Friday I got fed up and went out and bought the General Hydroponics Flora (micro, grow & bloom) and now my plants are doing 110% better. I'm going to be using this stuff from now on. They are healthy and growing and I used the exact same Lucas formula as well as my PH being at around 6.0. This is in coco coir btw. Anyway I was wondering if anyone else has had problems with AN Jungle Juice? The GH Flora

no, and ive been using JJ for about a year now. Its virtually the same thing as the flora series. It sounds like your plants needed the grow formula as well. After reading your post it seems like thats the main difference. You added the GH grow to your mix and your plants need the Grow. Good job in listening to your plants. I would try to add the JJ grow to your mix if your not over JJ already. Otherwise stick to what works for you and dont worry about what everyone elses is using. JMO

I run with just floraMicro and bloom and haven't had one issue yet, but I've wanted to switch nutes in the neverending chase for bigger buds...junglejuice was on the list

Nutrient lockout would have been cause by your enviorment, not the nutes. Purple stems and slow growth are mainly caused by soggy feet. What probably happened is they stopped growth and feeding, then they stopped the intake of water got water logged, stopping the uptake of phosphouris causing red stems and leave veins. By the time you went and bought another product they dried out and your feeding started again and whala they took off.

I see people balming the nutes all the time and these products now a days make it almost impossible to have an imbalance without the cause being grower habits.

This goes for all good quality nutes.

YES!

One time of nute lockout doesn't mean anything about the nutes. I mean, I don't have any opinions about anything that I haven't used more than once - and more than that when I was a newbie.

I'm not using Jungle Juice right now, but I haven't seen any issues with AN that I didn't cause myself.

The only difference between Jungle Juice and the Flora series is the price. Jungle Juice is cheaper. That's it.

If switching from one to the other did anything except lighten or thicken your wallet, something OTHER than the nutes was the cause.

Bah, I'm sticking with X Nutrients. Generic-non-name-brand fertilizers ftw! lol. JK, I always laugh at these nutrient face offs.

Same here. I've never seen one that even got close to actual scientific conditions except - possibly - the one that Advanced Nutrients paid for and of course people assume their backing made that unscientific. According to the reporter that did the article on it they had a licensed medical grower do the grow but people still think it was BS.

Who knows. But the ones I see posted to forums? Yeah, there's always a dozen things overlooked that keep them from being really scientific.

find one that u can use it really does not matter imo, additives though i have many opinions lol. like aqua shield for hydro, silica blast, and then GRAVITY and i love gravity.

Guy at local hydro store told me that AN reverse engineered GH 3 part Flora and called it Jungle Juice.
I use them interchangeably, but AN is generally cheaper.
Seems a lot of politics around AN.

i know this is really late but it may be because of your medium (coco coir). On my bottles of AN Jungle Juice it says its not recommended for coco coir.
