I have been growing from seed for many years of every kind of vegetable and have had great success with germinating indoors in soil and soilless mediums. Yesterday I was reading up on a variety of weed and I stumbled onto a site that subcool had shown his germ technique and I just laughed at myself. He soaks down some root riots turns em upside down, pokes holes in em, and places seed point down with button part up and waits. What really amazed me is that he doesn't use a dome, or heat mat just keeps em moist under light so they are about 75 degrees and he got 12 out of 12. My bag method in the closet gets about 90 percent or more, but that really bugged me so I am trying it on some of last years seeds. How odd no cover, no heat, and he lives in a place cold as a witches tit. And, two of his seeds came up outside under his barbie with an average temp of 50. That tells me if this method gets me higher rates I will use it every time, and for my vegies as well. :-P

My first time ever germinating I used root riot put the seed in it on a heat source and got 7/9... not 12/12 but I thought it was pretty good for a first time. No dome and didnt soak them either... used two cap fulls of water between the 7 plots every 6-9 hours
