How's it goin' people? I'm a loud-mouthed but humble bloke who has returned to the Aussie outback to reconnect with family and exercise my green thumb in the process! I have only just started seriously growing recently after all of these years and I find that I am enjoying the actual grow as much as the end result! Recently, I have been following a lot of Nugbuckets work on his main-lining thread and have started experimenting with the technique - I'm looking forward to sharing the grow with everyone here and hopefully learn as much as everyone is willing to share. Loving the happy attitude of this site and looking forward to meeting/chatting with you all! Have a good'un guys and gals!

I have been thinking about Mainlining myself. I like the idea of low stress or no stress training as it always saddens me when I cut my girls. I'll keep an eye out for your future posts.

Cheers Popcorn! I'm currently main-lining both a Pineapple Chunk and an Amnesia (both feminised) for the first time and I know what you mean when it comes to cut time - they were looking so bloody big, green and beautiful last week before I cut them from 6 to 3 nodes and started torturing the poor beasts! But they are responding REALLY well and up to 4 mains already. I'll probably take the PC out to 16 mains as she has more of a stretch on her apparently, but it's all just an experiment at the mo and I'm just trying to relax and listen to what the plants are telling me! Pics to come this arvo!

Welcome! would you mind explaining just what, "mainlining" is as it applies to growing? Thank you.
Good to meet ya' champion! There is a thread here started by Nugbuckets that explains the concept perfectly with a shiitload of great pictures and a wealth on info. But essentially, it involves topping and training the plant at the same node on each main which results in one main trunk which acts as a hub for 8, 16, 32 or even 64 perfectly even mains with even water and nutrient distribution. I'll have some pics floating around here this arvo to explain better what I mean! Cheers mate!

I've started up my first grow journal for the two lovely ladies, but thought I'd throw in todays shots just for the helluvit. The next topping to take 'em to 8 mains each will still be a few days off yet. I'm happy leaving them tied down and letting the 4 mains on each continue to develop. I'm also having a go at cloning the tops in opaque cups (to cut down on light getting to the roots) filled with water, just to see what happens. Will post more the next topping session. Enjoy!!!

Thank you,I think I'll stick to LST. Don't want to stress the living shit out of my plants, makes me nervous.

Well... my brother has drunkenly wrought disaster on my fledgling crop, collapsing the light-frame directly onto the plants (burning the shit out of them!) and also landing the cfls right on the clones I took! (another right mess!) I'm in repair mode as we speak and it looks like I might be able to salvage something but OMFG... they were up to 4 and 8 tops respectively and about to be topped for 8 and 16. Only time and a bit of pure arse will get a result from this trainwreck. I'm keeping updates on my current journal. Talk soon amigos!

Yeah... it takes some getting used to, seeing all that carnage. But I breathe deep and tell myself that it's for the greater good... plus all those tops make great, evenly developing clones which can be also mainlined. Ah... the cycle of life. Where's my lion-king soundtrack?
