That was our other meat! lol... I BBQ'D some NY just 45 min ago. That's one of my favorite cuts.
Yeah.. its my favorite beef steak for sure. I'm a sous chef at a country club and we had a members only luau today. We roasted two pigs and had twenty chickens on the rotisserie. I only sampled everything but it all was really tasty.
I've never had abalone before.. does anything taste similar? Isn't it really expensive?

It's amazing and unique... nothing like it (imo) It's $125 a pound ... luckily I got a family full of divers, so we have a family freezer packed full of fish and abs.

Damn.. for that price it has to be delicious. Abalone is heavily regulated isn't it? I think I remember seeing something about it on one of the NGC game warden shows. I'm going to have to try it sometime.

If they're endangered that's how it should be. That's a good thing.. Seems as if the game wardens in Cali really care about the areas that they patrol.. at least that's how they were portrayed on that show.

Looks wonderful!
We have some family in town, so I decided to show them some fried abalone. I will bring some to the next BBQ, if I can convince my old lady to attend

Now some Canadian whiskey, and Mexican beer...
Looks wonderful, only had it a couple of times.
The wife cooked up some of the cod I caught on Thursday. She whipped up some beer batter and we had fish and chips with coleslaw.....YUM!

Spring defiantly can't come soon enough...although i do have some little winter girls out the back, first year with two harvests thanks to the roll it up community :bigjoint:

Man that abalone looks good, a lot of ab poachers here in aus too, I'm also a keen diver, between the water and the garden that's where most of my time is spent.
