This game has been done in a lot of other forums before, but I'd like to start one here too since they're usually pretty cool. It works like this: Each day (or as often as I can get on) I will post an "update" of our creature, as well as a few options on what we want to evolve next. Then you guys vote on which option you want to evolve into, and the next stage begins, with the voted option added. I'll post the first "update" now:

We descend upon a alien world much like our own with a large fertile see and tropical forests. There is a great abundance of life, and the planet is flourishing. A giant red star looms over head nearing the end of its life. This is an old world that has gone unchanged for billions of years but a new wind blows. The old red star begins to die, as it expands it engulfs the planet and explodes.

From every death comes new life. The old matter of the star and planets that surrounded begin to churn. A new solar system forms. A earth like planet with empty expansive oceans is what we are drawn to. Deep in the ocean, the match of life has been struck and new life has formed. Our cell is a bland round blob of a cell trying to carve out an existence by feeding on nutrients in volcanic vents. There are a few separate varieties of competing cells. There are larger predator cells that engulf smaller cells like ours before digesting them. There are photosynthetic cells that remain immobile while feeding on the sunlight and surrounding nutrients. There are also faster cells with Flagellate competing for nutrients at the volcanic vents.

Possible Evolutions of the Era:
A) Flagellate - Increase movement speed and get more nutrients.
B) Eye Sight -
Increase awareness of surrounding's
C) Photosynthesis - Take advantage of the sunlight rather than volcanic vents.
D) Horns- Allows you to pierce other primitive cells and eat them.
E) Cnidocytes - A spike that shoots out and stuns predators and prey.

I guess there isn't much interest so ill just update with 1 vote

The flagellum cell numbers are increasing rapidly thanks to their ability to gather a great deal of nutrients quickly and because one of their food sources has increased in population so has the larger predator cells. The population of the photosynthetic cells has begun to decline because of the pressure. This has also inflicted considerable pressure upon our cell. Slowly over countless generations a primitive eye is formed. Though it is only basic sight, it allows the cell to see predator cells before they are right on top of one another. Our cell can also now see nutrients when they are near and feed more efficiently but its population is being kept in check by the predator cells. Just when the population seemed it would never grow a new mutation in a small population occurs:

A) Flagellate - Increase movement speed and get more nutrients.
B)
Advanced Cilia - Increases movement speed; slightly slower than a flagella, but more controlled.
C) Photosynthesis - Take advantage of the sunlight rather than volcanic vents.
D) Horns- Allows you to pierce other primitive cells and eat them.
E) Cnidocytes - A spike that shoots out and stuns predators and prey.
