Headlines

- Despite a year of economic difficulty, almost 50% of people surveyed are more positive about 2014 than they were for 2013;

- US, Canada and Australia are the countries where most people would like to live if they could;

- US is considered to be the greatest threat to peace in the world, followed by Pakistan and China;

- Over a third of those surveyed believe the world would be a better place if there were more female politicians;

- Now in its 37th year WIN/Gallup International End of Year Survey finds that since 1989 people in general have a more positive outlook on economic prosperity for the coming year.

US - really the biggest threat?

The US was the overwhelming choice (24% of respondents) for the country that represents the greatest threat to peace in the world today. This was followed by Pakistan (8%), China (6%), North Korea, Israel and Iran (5%). Respondents in Russia (54%), China (49%) and Bosnia (49%) were the most fearful of the US as a threat.

These results show that although the US is widely regarded as posing the greatest threat to peace, it is, paradoxically, still the most desired country to live in. This could show that for many of the people surveyed across the globe it appears that the notion of the ‘American Dream’ is still alive.

You don't fall into that category son - your posts are devoid of clear and well thought through responses. In other words you are a delusional old codger...
Doer is an alright guy, he has a problem with self expression for sure and is misunderstood by most, but I think his heart is always in the right place.

At least he isn't a 11 year Stormfront veteran like Bucky.

You have no idea what world peace even or if it is possible,, or how to get it or how to keep it if you did.

There is simply no such thing, and never has been. And without the USA there would be no Prosperity in this world only the New Dark Ages of Islam.

Europe was bending over to Islam until we came along and took back the Med.

Islam can gain a foothold because they are willing to make it personal, they are willing to die for the cause, they are willing to do deeds that would crush the soul of most.

Who's really worried about islam in the west?

Honestly we've got 'em walking around on eggshells, you utter the word "terrorist" and someone is getting thrown in a hole.

Police and National Security agencies are all too willing to trump up charges and cover up neglect and wrongdoing.

Muslim is the new black.

sorry bub, Many christians are cowards, I don't know a single one that would give their life for Jesus. I see Muslims dying every day for their cause. Jews too.

Are there any Buddhist terrorists?

and if we have established anything, it is that only your limited, personal anecdotes matter and no other reality exists outside of your tiny, stupid little world.

I'd argue most of the servicemen who died in the war on terror (Iraq & Afghanistan 01-14) were Christian

At least 80%..

Because they call themselves "Christians", or because they actually practice the religion?
It's the uniform. You see god, the real one that Santa Clausly looking guy up in the sky, has his favorite team too.

He's up there hanging out with all his boys and they get bored so they flip on his 4 mile wide t.v. screen, crack a few beers and watch some sporting events. Everybody knows when the USA takes the field, God doesn't change the channel, he puts on his red white and blue sweatshirt and orders pizza to watch his team run up the score.

His favorite game of all time was the one with the long bomb finish at the end...man that Harry Truman could thread the needle.

Imposed order and world peace are sometimes confused as the same thing.

So the Jews willingly went into the ovens for God?

Pretty sure US servicemen are dying for their country and not for Jesus, and the Jews didn't go willingly, they were forced.
