I havent started this grow yet, I wanted to get some info and advice before I started. First off I'll be using Pro Mix BX general purpose, it was all they had at my local hydro ran out of the pro, and I was thinking of mixing this with some guanos, dolomite lime and perlite. I was thinking 65% Mix, 15% perlite, 10% guanos, 10% meals, and dolomite lime. I read somewhere that if you mix your own soil, you should fill your bottom half with the mix and your base at the top half, is this true or better to do? Any old secret recipe would be great, Im trying to finish up my first grow and Ive learned a lot thanks to RIU. Seeds are awaiting preparation of soil, I want to be able to go without nutes well into my veg and not worry about any deficiency until bloom at the least. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

So Im germinating my seeds and they have cracked today, hoping to place them in dirt tomorrow but I'd really like a second opinion from someone.
Waiting patiently for any responders...

And it begins, they are both in the soil and under the sun waiting for a sprout. I'll be putting them under a 600w hps about 2 feet away and alternating from hps to sunlight.. Comments, tips, advice, opinions are all welcome. Still a beginner, any help is appreciated.. More to come hopefully

Sounds like a good grow,, I love your soil idea. you will get great growth that way. You will be surprised how good it vegs all you will need is patients and good water. Keep us updated..

Hey thanks but I was kinda worried, if I were to put both the guanos and the meals is that going to burn the seedlings? its going to be a high ratio, I didnt get any comments on the soil mix so I put them in str8 promix bx with added perlite only, the transplant is going to have all the fertilizers..

Ya Bro it will be hot,, don't feel bad I'v never used any nuts. Its been 7 weeks and my plants are thriving. Most people don't believe that good soil can be that good.. but its true its just everybody wants some miracle nut instead of a great soil.. Ya plants need food but not steroids that can never be flushed out.. Soil topics don't go over big on grow sights, here is my plants nut free and as happy as can be..

That looks great, Im gonna start experimenting to make a good soil base keep it all organic or at least nute free like what you got going.. What recipe do you use?

And The cycle starts with a little green, checked them this morning and there they were :hug:.. I got them under the sun soaking up some rays for now. More updates to come but I was also thinking of going 12/12 from seed I know its to late to 12/12 since I have it 24/0 so far but 12/12 from now, idk.. any tips or suggestions?

One of my seedlings got attacked by the worst possible thing, my dennis the menace of a brother ripped it right out of its place :wall:... Im upset but ohh weelllll..... :neutral:

I love my g13 pe plant! Hardy, high yield and pretty damn fast flower time! I got 5 fem seeds and popped 2 so far, I got 2 completely different pheno types! The keeper and current mother has about a 55 day from 12/12 with big fat hard ass nugs! The other one was really fast like i cant beleave how fast shes done 40 days, but half the plant of my mother! Her buds were airy and light! Around .5 gpw. where the keeper is around 1.2 gpw! So be selective with your mothers!

That sounds great, post some pics up :leaf:, is that an autoflower or photo?
I have a seedling update, looking really good I'll be doing 400w MH 14hours and the remaining 10hours in the sun, either that or a 12/12 from seed (even tho it isnt really 12/12 from seed anymore)
Its all about my setup, Im planning on changing it to an attic.. Still working things out, To Be Continued...

UPDATE DAY 8
Little baby is coming along nicely, 24/0 light schedule, about 18 in away from light, nutes fed at 1/5 strength, watered-fed-watered so far, next watering is feed-feed-water and so on..
Im guessing this is the pineapple express judging from the indica like leaf so I guess I have an auto on my hands which means no clones or would cuttings work to get multiple colas?

Does this plant, being an auto, need a lot of nitrogen? its been in 12/12 for a week or so, I tried top feeding it high N bat guano about 2days ago but that wont break down until about 2weeks. Any suggestions on what I can do for this plant to get fast nitrogen?

Arent autos going to flower no matter what hours you give it? Also, I only have one tent and my current grow is at its flowering stage, there really isnt anything I can do.. Im planing on getting a cool tube with a 600w switchable ballast and a 2x4 tent for veg and clones after harvest :weed:. Until then, Im stuck with what I have now unfortunately..

Personally, I would be very careful not to contaminate your indoor grow area if you are putting plants outside for sun..U may be welcoming some unwanted guests..PE is a very fast grower and you should really enjoy her...Peace

Thanks I've been keeping an eye wide open when I take them back in, but now that they're in 12/12 They stay put getting taller by the days :bigjoint: SMOKE WEED EVERYDAY!

AUTO's do the best with more light. Keeping it at 12/12 not help it achieve its best yield. 18/6 is Great for Auto's, and I too would not be taking it outside. The second you get spider mites, you will kick yourself forever.

Are spider mites really that bad, at first when I first started say before 3weeks of veg(I vegged for 2months) I had my plants in a huge tote with foil on it and a 400w MH and I had some webs and spiders but I got it taken care of in no time. Havent seen a spider near my plants since.. I was to eager to start my first grow, especially since I held on to my seeds for about a month before I started due to equipment, that I just rushed in. I improvised as best as I could and now I think I have a decent set up. Working on my soil and tea brewing using the GO line, taking in as much info as I could about microbes also.. Do you mind taking a look at my other grow, I have some weird deficiencies I cant find online..

I got spider mites during my first soil grow, and they just kept coming. I tried Neem oil, Soaps, Ladybugs, Predator mites, and they just kept eating my plants. All I could do was keep them in check until harvest, but certainly not easy.

I then moved to Hydro, and now running hempy buckets. I keep the room as clean as I can, and use Hot Shots No Pest Strips in the Veg Room, but I must say, for me, the spider mites were THAT BAD..
