So I'm growing in coco coir and perlite and Recently ran out and I use some miracle grow organic from HD and now I've got fungus gnats. Tried hydrogen peroxide, and azamax neither seems to be working but it's only been a few weeks. Seems like they would be dead by now. Using sticky traps but they seem like my buds better. Help please?

Oh I also tried vaccumming off the top 2-4" of medium... Help!!!

Let your soil dry all the way out between watering. Water a little less than normal every watering and don't let water fill up the catch pan, drain it if it fills. Take some of the yellow sticky traps and rub the sticky stuff around the rim of the pots til its a hot mess. I believe some top dress the soil in sand but don't hold me to that...

I had good luck with Mosquito Bits (bacteria based solution using BT, Bacillus Thuringiensis).

I sprinkled some on top of my soil and also put some in a jar that I filled with water and let sit for 24 hours. Soaked the soil with this water and fungus gnats were gone in fairly short order.

Good luck!

They are attracted to red wine so a glass of that in your room will work too.. Like already said, Bacillus Thuringiensis works very well. You can also use a topping such as sand, perlite, DE Powder or "gnat nix" (It dries out fast and they don't like to lay eggs in dry areas & I believe gnat nix is suppose to cut the protective layer on them killing them)

Overall, most effective is BT (Gnatrol or Mosquito Bits, etc) I have to deal with them a lot and this usually gets rid of them within a day or two.. Anymore I just use it as a preventive.

On a sidenote: You can sprinkle DE Powder around your grow room to.. When the gnats step in it generally kills them. Fun to watch them roll around in it suffering a slow, painful death trying to escape.

Best of luck, my friend.

So with the mosquito bits, use as directed? What about mosquito dunks is that the same thing?

You water to much? Leave tray full of whater after u water? If u do stop it. Mop area with bleach. Continue azamax add some benificial microorganizms like orca or a tea. Go to Home Depot buy a hot shot pest strip. Turn off all fans and air circulation. When lights off of course. Leave that sucker in there for two weeks you won't see any bugs after a few days. Bet

I have noticed under-watering greatly effects fungus gnats in a negative way. Under-water for a month and you should have less then 50 from a population of 2000

Dude I always get fungus gnats \ primarily because i use a cheap soil in my n\mix.. Neem oil works for me everytime usually go down by half the 1st week and gone by the 2nd. cost between 7-9 bucks. all natural and works.. slightly stinks though

Don't get the mosquito dunks. Those are for outdoor ponds. The mosquito bits are the way to go. It works well, cheap, easy to apply, and it's totally harmless to you and your plants.

As long as the top layer of soil stays dry, they cannot reproduce.
Other areas of your room or house may be a new home to them and they come back to visit.
I water from below and only see them when switching soil.
I use sticky fly traps and are rid of them in 1-2 week.

The mosquito bits are good for fungus gnats. But dude. They ARE harmful to humans. There are several warnings on the bottle not to expose yourself to the bits and to wash hands before you do anything...especially smoking tobacco. If you don't know , please don't give bad advice.
