Just trying to back him up, no sense in him quiting cause someone hates on him. I have a GED as well, got mine right off though so I some what can understand what he is going through.

I've never had any employer actually ask for my diploma or HS contact info.

Most don't even ask about high school. Your job experience is the most important factor. Having few gaps, and over 6 months to a year per job are both good.

i dont think he should quit. Dude read my post i even said i was high and it was contradicting. He should finish high-school becuase its easy. But if not, take the GED and be done with it. I have the GED and im proud

Frankly I think the present day skool () system is outdated and prone to push people away from achieving their true desires. I can still remember my guidance teacher asking me over and over again what I wanted to be. I just kept saying I'm 16, I don't have a clue! My grades were top notch because of my memory but I found school to be dull and mostly boring. It drove my parents crazy. I ended up going to university, but I never matched my degree with my career. I did however get a spread of knowlege I otherwise wouldn't have. Not at that age anyways. It was all hooters, beer, rugby, and weed.

You should get your GED however because the job market is going to get very competitive as the economy slinks backwards over the next few years, perhaps longer. Then decide in what direction you wish to go.

One step at a time will get you down the path. :peace:

out. :blsmoke:

If you love your girl like you say - don't you want to provide her a stable comfortable life?
There are folks with advanced degrees taking minimum wage jobs these days to get by, and without an education how will you compete?

Money problems break up relationships every day. If your girl goes on with school and you are struggling to keep a low paying job - what will you have in common? Her friends will be moving into well paying jobs with a bright future, but what will you be able to offer her?

Tough it out - you owe it to yourself, and your girl.

Thanks to all you guys. Even those telling me to stay in school, I know you guys are just trying to think of what my best options are. Best honestly, I'm just going to drop out, get a job and stick with it so that I can have experience and it'll look nice when signing for other jobs. While of course getting my ged.

Also, my gf says being a nurse you have to deal with some of the grossest things in the world.

lol well if u want 2 drop out I don't care, but you might be able to get credits other ways, like co-op or self-homeschooling. It's not a very good idea to go out to BC and make a business in growin and sellin pot. The BC pot industry is already way too big, and there are already way too many growers and dealers. You can pretty much go to any headshop in Vancouver and buy an ounce of weed for 200 bucks or so, which is fairly overpriced. There are also many mass-scale grow ops out in BC that are more vast than 400 plants. If you know the right people in BC, you can get top quality dank for only 150 bucks an ounce. Here in ontario I pay about 170 for an ounce of top quality.

If you wanna make real money with pot come up here, buy a half pound for about 1000-1200, bring it down there and sell it for way more.

Look dude, its not a good idea to come up to Canada and try to sell weed. I live in a small town and the business is way over-inflated here. There are many dealers here that move pounds of pot in a week.

Well, I definitely am not planning to move to BC just to sell weed. I mean I'll be growing for personal use, but not selling. I was just wondering if you make any sort of profit in providing the compassion centers with my bud. But I plan to move to Vancouver and go to community college for 2 years and then either become an accountant, computer engineer, interpreter for the deaf or I could become a nurse.

Dude... take an online HS course... look it up, I know my cousin did all of her stuff online because she lives overseas but wanted a US diploma, she is a US citizen as well.

And, it's an accredited HS, they actually have a real HS in Yakima, I went there for her graduation... this is just their online distance learning "campus".

The school she went to was: http://www.cmacademy.org/

fuck you

I bet you're still in high school and think your smarter than everyone else because you take ap classes. Let me tell you something, you're not shit. High school doesn't measure shit but who can play the system the best (i.e. who can kiss the most ass). So good for you, you went to class everyday and sucked your teacher's dick....
Let's see how sucking dick ends up for you in the real world. Let me know how getting no pussy and dying alone feels....

but hey at least you did good in high school you can always fall back on that.

But anyway, back to the op. How many more credits do you need?
If it's not that many I'd try to stick it out. If it's enough to require two more semesters I'd just say fuck it, get your ged and get into community college by the time school would be starting next year. That way you don't waste another year with high school bullshit.
fuck them dickheads man.I dropped out a minute ago to work.Im about to get the ged in a couple weeks.I heard its very easy. You cant join the army with one now though, you would need like 16 college credits to.I urge you not to drop out though.

Alright, please don't spam this thread with posts telling me to not drop out. I'm 18 years old and am attending my 5th year of high school in an attempt to recieve credits in classes because I decided to fuck up my 9th and 10th grade years.... I can't take that back and now the school is telling me I need another year before I graduate! I've been dealing with some really bad depression lately and just feel like giving up. I really am just going to drop out but I was wondering if anyone here could give me some good advise on how not to fall off the face of the earth.... I still want to get my g.e.d. and maybe go to a community college but I'm moving to Vancouver, BC and really just see myself becoming a caregiver.... do you make any money off that?
Bro I was in the exact same situation and I toughed it out the extra year and graduated. I am 19 now and sure it sucked fuckin dick, but I just looked at the positive side of things. Thinks of it this was you keep gettin older and those young hotties stay the same age. Plus right now those teachers probably look at you like a loser, prove those mutherfuckers wrong. They need to get off their fuckin high horses, think were dumb just cause we smoke marijuana. I was smart as hell in high school, I just had to do an extra year cause I skipped like all of grade 10.
