How do they look?

7gallon pots - Super Soil
600w
4x4x6.5 tent

So my first harvest of these were about a month ago and I was slightly disappointed, the smoke was great - except for the picky things i could point out but never mind that

The real issue I only yielded about an ounce between the two that i actually used for bud ( had 4 but one was a different plant a buddy gave me seeds for and the other was a fruity but in a 5g pot and turned out too airy so i hashed it up)

So I'm sitting here thinking what could have gone wrong the first grow and the only thing i could think of was the light. I had the pots on the floor the first time and the light was essentially at the top of the tent minus a foot or so being in an air-cooled hood and the plants were little over 2 feet to finish (so about 3ft give or take off the ground and the light being about 3ft-4ft away from the top canopy

You guys think this caused the yield issue, or was it my trimming? i mean i trimmed them as i figured they should be up to the point i couldn't pull bud away from the stem so all were pretty small pieces

So now these 4 are all from my favorite mother - bushiest and finished first and i have them on top of 7gallon containers and they are already past 2ft (2'3"-2'6") so well over 1ft closer probably more than the last run

Definitely happy with the smoke but fuck, i hear everyone saying they're pulling at least 3oz off 7gallon containers and i got maybe 1 the first round

*also vegged while the others were flowering (including cloning time was about 7.5-8 weeks)

with a 7.5-8 week veg you will prob harvest your target yield! How many plants are you growing?

I've got 4 in there
four feet away from a 600 w hps and you are losing a metric ass-ton of your lumens.
if you have an aircooled reflector, get that bulb as close as you can, get a remote thermometer on the tip of your plants to make sure it's not too hot, don't go over 90 deg.
I usually have my plants about 12 inches away from my bulbs, and I even run a MH, which is hotter than a hps, fresh cool air from outside is a must when cooling the light, also remember to CLEAN your glass shield on your air cooled reflector, clean that glass every month, it gets dirty/dusty

I figured that was the case, I mean cause they were healthy as shit nothing yellowed whatsoever just happy campers

They are about 8-10in away from the glass now, i think i was just worried about light distribution as my hood seems pretty small. They look perfect now got it so only small branches maybe 1 or 2 large branches are shaded on the backside away from the light

Do you think this should add a lot more weight or...I mean Sensi says they should get an XXL yield, whatever that can mean (obviously good growing conditions, which honestly the only other thing is no CO2 - low humidity - and probably not the best 600w but still 1oz... fuck that)
