Frost

How bad is it for plants? Im going to try putting 6 northern lights out in nc for a end of april harvest. and there could be two frosts. or more.

If they cant survive on their own anything I can do that would make a 30 degree night bearable?

just like a human theyt could easily freeze to death. grow them iside and than after the threat of frost slowly keep them outside longer to "harden" them off so they wont be shocked from temps.

Wow. Id keep them inside at night in a light tight room.

How long they can survive a frost depends on how deep the frost and how mature the plant. At least, you loose leaves, at most, you rupture the vascular cavities and the plant will wilt and die.

If you have to leave them outside, wrap them in news paper and put a garbage bag over them. Its way to early to put plants out.

my spot is two miles of walking from my house, flowering right now after 3 weeks of veg but the plants have to have time to finish by april 15th before the days get to long. Would it be bad to leave clear trash bags over them for afew days? like if another coldsnap comes through i could get down there the day before and cover them and then uncover when its warm again? and they will be in the ground so no moving these fellows.

in considering flower 2 or 3 more weeks indoors and then at the end of feb they are saying the temp shouldnt go below 35 unless there is another cold snap is this good enough? not looking for good yields just a qp between em will do fine. (im only harvesting the top they will go back to veg and keep growing for the fall harvest where they will be monsters! if they live)

I just dont see this working out really. Perhaps you have information that makes you more confident. Im a few hundred miles north of you. We get a frost or 2 in April usually. Its usually only for a few hours, and an established, hardened off plant can survive.
