from the sounds of it, it could be bad

ok so here it goes!, we started 2 plants from bag seed of what we were told was "purple outdoor something from california", i know you already want to know more. ok so we put them in some potting mix and tossed some wall-mart(i know) "grow lights" on em. they're flourescent bars. well needless to say they were better off in the window, so thats where they stayed. oh yeah these got started in july sometime i think. so yeah, they were in the window for sometime and actually doing ok, and by that i mean they grew a bit and started flowering on they're own, but winter started to we tossed em back in a wardrobe with the 2 tube lights and 3 cfl's and now they're doing...better, the bigger one is finally showing its a girl (wooohoooo) and the little one that was already a girlie started to get a nice dark green and the trichy count blew waaay up. yup so we're happy. well, friday we ordered a bubbleponic system from sh, and now i have a whole new set of issues and questions that i just cantsh find the right answers to, so if someone would let me know that would be just super so here they are.
1) now that my 2 girls are flowering can i clone em and toss em in the rockwool in the bubblepponics system, or would i have to put them back on a 24 hour light to push em back to flowering?
2) can i transplant the ladies from soil into the sh with minimal worries or
should i let them stay in dirt?
3) i dont want some crazy 3 or 4 foot plants what can i do to keep them small?
well, i guess thats about it any help would be great i would really prefer to not fuck this up as im prone to doing with just about everything, so id really appreciate it
