christ, not to be a dick, but dude isn't asking how many of them will be female, but rather keepers, you know, something special, sorry, end of rant, i just didn't understand why no one other then dannyboy and myself picked up on this..
Nope, i got that, but i'm being My typical self :) If all 10 are not keepers, then it's not a good breeder :D Hence why i would not consider TAG a good breeder. If only 2 out of 4 steaks are perfect then he's not a good chef. I have high standards. If 2 are keepers, then he sells some good genetics, but is not necessarily a good breeder.

I have typically, out of 6, had two phenos that were not great. I have only grown appr. 100 females in doors so not a huge amount. This is also an average. I have not had one hermie though, touch wood lol.

Hiya SoundGarden9, hope all goes well with Ya seeds...I think you kinda answered Ya own question(Well apart from the ~ homogenous Seed bit) most if not all of them should be Female, but you do hear some of the Die Hard Reg only brigade saying you run the risk of some Hermies with Fems..also like you said not all will be strong. what I did and I'm still doing is taking Clones from all the Females, and noting down how strong the Mother Plant looks and Rec the Clone of with a number/letter..then after flowering the mothers the Clones are nearly ready for Flowering period, so I take Clones again from these and again Note the Good or Bad results...I started doing this because some of the seeds I have had (like 2 x Bomb Cherry Bomb) 1 seed looked weak/lame from day 1 and the resulting plant did too, and now it looks like the Clones of said weak plant..will be the same..so will stop Cloning that 1 and just take Clones from the Stronger Mother....I know this is many moons down the road for you...but worth bearing in mind...not all seeds are equal.

Peace

It depends on how you define a keeper. If you want the top 1%, you'll need 100 seeds. Just math.

In the real world there is no easy way to know which plant will be the best until you grow them out. I would estimate about 80% of the seeds I have grown were decent or better and 10% what I would call special.

I may be wrong but it is my understanding that reg. seeds are less prone to the so called weak pheno's, and not that i understand this. Like i have said never a hermie or male in appr. 100 plants just some weak ass pheno's. I have yet to try reg seeds , space is to valuble right now lol.
