fresh weed in jars?

I just harvested and was wondering if i am able to jar my weed in mason jars until i have somewhere to dry which i do not right now ... i can burp it like 10 times a day if neccesary . any downsides? loss of potency? i know there is a chance of mold.

i would do a paper bag if anything let it breath

Do not put them in jars, they will mold, their moisture content is way too high. You should put them in some paper bags like this other poster said, and maybe hide them somewhere near/around your house until they are dry enough to jar.

thats the thing i cant dry it in my house and have it smelling... i have some in a bag under my deck to see how that works

sounds like a wast of good weed. maybe plan ahead next time. dont forget some molds can kill you so cheers!

Why did you harvest when you didn't have a place to dry? And why didn't you plan ahead and make some sort of arrangements for dry ing?

Its all good now i hung them in a cabinent in my basement. not the best place for it due to almost no air flow but worked better then under the deck! they dried in 3 1/2 days does that seem to quick? there curing now

It is so dry here my plants dry enough for the jars I about 3 days.
I bought a 4" inline fan/filter combo just for trimming and drying after my wife said she could smell the weed at the mailbox when I was trimming in the garage. My mailbox is about 100 feet from my garage.


If you put the weed in the jars too soon you will get hay.

same here. They dry so quickly I don't think they cure very well. And I hang full branches in a closed closet with no fan. Buds are almost crumbly dry within a few days
