With a webcam, pc or mac, and an internet connection, you can monitor and record your home from a seperate location. Since it is recording via the internet, there is no media for a thief to retrieve in an effort to conceal evidence of their identity. You can also use this tool to record your own shows to broadcast at specific times (pass out the link via email). Go to http://www.ustream.tv/get-started and click the bright orange button, top-center, labeled "Broadcast". Follow the on-screen instructions to record your "show". You can look in at any time (from a computer) to view the live recording.

Sounds like a great way to ensure peace of mind and at the same time monitor our girls

it doubles as a insurance against corrupt cops, and you can google "security camera signs" and save an image to print and place in your windows.

any grower should be able to get great use from this. if nothing at all, you can tell when it is unsafe to return. that alone will be well worth the effort.

So packet sniffing isn't an issue?
The internet is FAR from a secure form of communication.

Now, if you encrypt the data, just the act of decrypting is illegal. So anyone decrypting it is in violation of US law. (MDRA) Outside the US, well you are on your own.

I have always thought about security web cams to monitor the house.
Along with sensors in the driveways.
If its a bust i would have kill switch to ignite the entire basement or grow room before the cops could even knock on the door.
Good info, there are a lot of different web cams programs as well that make it very simple to monitor from a remote location.

my laptop has this, motion detection is my fav option on this webcam

yea i didn't even know till months after we got the laptop. came in handy when i caught my gf's brothers stealing my roaches..lol

hell yeah!

i used the software that came w/ the logitech quickcam and set it to record when motion was detected, minimized the screen so the purp wouldn't catch on, and found out all kinds of shit.
