1850 altitude...ok so today i distilled off the terps up to 200...once i start getting an oil dribble i swap to my 500ml flask. I get what i believe is thc starting around 205-215 then i start getting "red oil" ..i do a second pass to get any other terps out...my first distillation came nack at only 45%thc and the lab said a high amounth of delta 8 any reason for that....

but am i reading that right, 45% dlta 8 thc is what you got for all that work you did?
Whats the other 55%? Did you get terps tested or just potency? Was that your finished product? Thats twice distilled?
Did the red oil fraction look like this color?
Did you have that tested?
What was left in the boiling flask after you were done?
What pressure were you at whilst in that 205 to 215 range?

Im at almost full vac 28inhg usually. Yes mostlu red in the oil i can sre the color change and i stop...it was 42 percent delta 9 and lots of delta 8 dont know exact number

28inhg is a long way from full vacuum.
Dosent sound like it i know, but it is way off. Several meters away from space you are.
Theres a big difference in those decimals that really effects your boiling points and what your distilling
You will need to reduce pressure further for sure

Ok well for my area i pull as much vacuum as i can 703mmhg is what im at right now. And currently fractioning off thc at 215c. Idk its all so new

Could some one explain how i could run some material get back 450 grams and it only test 22% thc. This happened at work was a mix of like 20 strains.

How old was the material? Did they test for both delta 8 and 9?

What was CBN content?

I would pick up a good micron gauge. Your vacuum level needs to be in the low micron level, so you may be compensating with more heat, increasing delta 8 and CBN, as well as breaking CBN down into further degradation products.
