rats man! fucking rats i tell ya!!!! I always, EVERY year dedicate 2 plants to the stuff. one bag of ffof and one bag of happy frog mixed together and divided between the 2 holes. they LOVE the shit. almost as much as the fucking barn rats!! sometime the plants hold their ground and become just devastating shit and sometimes the rats devastate them. im about equal on the scoreboard with the little fuckers. you cant do shit about em either, ive tried everything. i use chicken wire so I KNOW its not coons or other little bitch ass critters, its fucking rats. caught a few in muskrat traps and 110 conibers but I'll never get all of them so I just gave up and decided to coincide with them. Ill put down some traps for them if they start to do too much damage but all it does is slows them down not stop them. just gotta live with it and have love for the wild. afterall I think of it this way, i'm in their neighborhood not the other way around.........

I've actually heard almost nothing but positive results from using Ocean Forest correctly. You've gotta dilute it by mixing other soils/amendments to it as it's a pretty 'hot' mix pH wise.

we never said there is anything wrong with the soil. just the critters dig it up like mad. the soil is actually of decent to better quality.

Actually, the OP started this thread with these words:

""Fox farms ocean forest for guirrilla growing?"

"Don't Do It!"

"My cousin swears by the stuff but half his plants have been dug up by critters. I think its the fish emulsion their after as if theres a prize on the bottom. "

So yeah hitthisshit, guess he was saying something was wrong with the soil.

What post are YOU reading?

the "BUT half his plants have been dug up" part. Maybe just MAYBE i'm misunderstanding that post but it seemed to me never said there was anything wrong with the soil, just critter find it attractive too....? I could be wrong he could be saying that the soil is just plain shit, doesn't grow anything but grass and kills any kind of plants you put in it, but I failed to read anything that would lead me to that conclusion. I have been known to be wrong before so maybe its happening again> :O

Don't do it...don't use Fox Farm's Ocean Forest. OP's words. Why are you defending those words? The guy's whole reasoning for starting this thread was to bash Ocean Forest. Really hard to see it any other way.

At this point, so many quality growers have tested and tried Ocean Forest to form a pretty overwhelming consensus that it's great soil...if used properly.

Hard to muddle the meaning of those words man. I'm failing to see your confusion.

Nope, never said it was shit, just shit for guirrilla growing. The plants of his that did survive are doing amazing. He has bigger fan leaves on his Early Skunk than I've had by harvest time with the same strain. Could be the myco grow I watered them in with when I helped him transplant to one of my spots, or both. Either way, my point was not to bash it nutrient wise but critter wise. If I was gonna bash it, I'd of mentioned how they put WAY too much perlite in it for the ocd, over watering noobs.
