Four Feminized LSD Under 600 Watt HID - Organic

Four LSD (Barney's Farm) seedlings are nine days old, sprouted them with the paper towel method and they all popped roots in 2-3 days, quite viable. Started them under fluorescent "cool blue", which probably insn't the best spectrum for growth. They are roughly 2 inches tall, I moved them under a 400 watt HPS (upgrading to a Gavita 1000DE, which is here in town I just need to pick it up from UPS, because they try to deliver things that need signatures when people work.) Soil is a mix of happy frog and perlite, just added some composted douglas fir mulch as a top dressing to their 1 gallon pots. Planning on transplanting to 3 gallon smart pots in 1-2 weeks. Keeping this grow mostly organic and will feed almost exclusively with compost tea depending on how it goes. Harvest weight goal is ~ 600g/plant.

Looking forward to this grow and appreciate any constructive comments/tips that anyone can contribute! Will update every weeks or so.

Day 16

Fed the plants with a couple rounds of low strength seedling tea last week, finishing up a 48hr AACT to feed with now. Just topped all four plants above the second true node, they are sitting about 20 inches away from a 400 watt HPS. Growth is vigorous and they all look healthy 8). Will transplant sometime next week.

Sorry didn't want to bother turning off my light for the pics..

Day 19

Just wanted to show a few photos of the foliar response for the LSD and "Bubba Kush", or whatever that freebie was they threw in. When sowing the seeds, I accidentally dropped/flicked one with these big, clumsy fingers. Oops. Also transplanted to 3 gallon air pots this evening, which is the final transfer.

On a side note I decided to not go with the Gavita 1000, one reason is heat and another is efficiency. Instead, I bought a Sun System LEC 315 watt cermaic MH fixture, which should arrive tomorrow if I can manage to get delivery. Will update again on Sunday, hopefully with the new light.
